An ancient elevator takes you to the third floor, be patient with it. Pretty quiet at night considering the neighborhood and busy Market street, but be prepared for the antique streetcars that start squeeking their way up the street at 6:00 AM.

Best located lodging in the Castro. Good value, great location and staff. Well appointed room. Everything worked and was very clean. Staff delivered extra towels on request. On public transport lines and walking distance to everything in The Castro.

My first time staying there. Will definitely be back. Room was clean & comfortable. No A/C but that was ok because San Francisco is normally pretty cold. Convenient to subway/rail & trolly. I understand this hotel has a bit of a "reputation" but I found nothing to be annoyed about.

Located directly at Upper Market street, good access to the F-line to bring you downtown. Very much worn out place. Rooms are clean, but outdated. Poor bathroom, needs to be renovated. No breakfast. Disappointing stay.

I was there was with family in 1965, so this was a great nostalgia trip. But also perfectly comfortable: polite service, clean room, frig and coffee in room, big shower, plenty of towels, safe area, lots of restaurants nearby, older but serviceable elevator, and (Yeah!) free parking. (Also near BART and bus if you don't want to drive.)
