We chose this particular campground because it was close to Acadia National Park. It came with a long list of rules and "do's and don'ts." One rule we had never seen before was the charge of $2 for daytime visitors, and visitors were only allowed to stay until 10 p.m. Most of the spots were wooded, which we try to... More

We`ve been there in the summer of 2009 & 2011. Really nice campground convenientely located to expolre the region. Free shuttle to Bar Harbor (15 min). Clean washrooms, friendly staff and quiet place. Nice outdoor pool with ocean view. Wild berries all over ! Reasonable rates.Only downside, cash only. More

We stayed here for 3 nights on recommendation from friends and had a great experience! Nice pool, nice new play park for our kids, surprisingly super clean washrooms/showers, paved streets, wooded and open campsite options, pick your own campsite, super family friendly, very secure. They don't mess around with things being out of order either (for the enjoyment of ALL... More

Quiet friendly campground with great sites each with their own fire pit and picnic table. It's close to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. There's a heated pool for the kids (though it's usually on the cold side). Showers are plentiful and 25c for 5 mins. There's also a camp store and Udder Heaven ice cream accessible from the campground. More

My wife and I usually try to stay at parks, but on a crowded August weekend, we took what we could get. We were pleased with the overall experience. It seemed crowded, but it was very nice that the campground left a little bit of space and flora between sites. It is one of the best commercial campsites we have... More

We stayed a week in the Acadia area and the Bar Harbor campground seemed like a good try. We tent. Many of the sites are fairly heavily wooded. The whole campground appears to rise to the north side (toward water) so there's very few that actually have a "water" view. Between campsites, there's about 15' so it's not like you're... More

This was our 4th time staying at the Bar Harbor Campground over the last 10 years. It is very conveniently located and has a bus stop right at the campground if you prefer to ride the buses to different locations on the island versus taking your vehicle. Bar Harbor is only minutes away. The campground is clean, quiet, and well... More

I've stayed here 3 different times. On my first visit I was a little surprised that its cash only but they have have a cash machine right there for your use. This is a great place! The bathrooms are clean. The staff is extremely friendly. The location can't be beat. You can park your car and never use it again... More

My husband's family goes camping for a week each summer. This year's destination - Bar Harbor. The Bar Harbor Campground was recommended by one of the family members - but they will never recommend it again. This campground does not take reservations - so when we started planning our trip, I called to ask how it worked and if they... More

Get up early one day to view the sunrise at the top of the hill if you don't get a site there. Pool nice. Bathhouses clean. Nice wooded lots. Location awesome. On the island explorer bus route. More
