The Bass Cottage Inn is the perfect blend of historical significance, beautiful furnishings, amazing breakfasts and a staff that will make you feel right at home at a very reasonable price. This impeccably refurbished mansion is bright, airy and the owners Jeff and Teri make you feel like you've known them your entire life. The inn is perfectly located in... More

We had two rooms reserved and stayed for two nights the first week of June and couldn't have been more pleased with the accomodations, the staff and the attentiveness and engagement of the owners. It was one of those experiences where it was palpable that all involved were engaged in your comfort and helping you have a fabulous experience in... More

We just love it when families and friends elect to spend their special time together at The Bass Cottage Inn. Our copious amount of common space provides lots of opportunity for conversations, a glass of wine or game of cards. It's like having your own mansion in Maine. More

While visiting Bar Harbor, we wandered into the Bass Cottage Inn - no reservation, no "warning" to the staff, on Thursday, June 13th. Not only was the place charming, bu the manager-on-duty (I do not have her name) was so kind in showing us the ground floor amenities and a brief history of the inn. This is exactly the type... More

The Bass Cottage is a wonderful place to stay. The staff is friendly and helpful. The house itself is beautiful and immaculately restored. Breakfasts are culinary masterpieces that will not disappoint. The house is located immediately off downtown Bar Harbor. I highly recommend the Bass Cottage for those looking for a confortable, quiet and relaxed atmosphere.

This was a terrific B&B experience. The service was very friendly and genuinely helpful. The breakfast both days was delicious, and it was nice to have options (and different options) each day. The room was nice, the bed extremely comfortable, and very quiet at night. Our favorite part was the authentically and beautifully decorated living rooms, which we used at... More

Our experience at the BCI was excellent from the moment we stepped onto the front porch at our arrival. Everyone there, from the owners, Goeff and Terri, their assistant manager Susan, their chef (thats right, chef) Greg, to the dinning room hostess, Sarah, and all the wonderful houskeeping staff, were all warm, happy, welcoming and hard working. It is the... More

The other Inns just could not compare! The service and attention was beyond our expectations. It was relaxing, meticulously clean, and delicious fare. The butler's pantry with snacks and drinks was a wonderful surprise. Having coffee service at all times added the final touches on a fabulous stay. We stayed in room 10.....well appointed, light, and airy. I would recommend... More

My husband and I stayed three nights at the Bass Cottage Inn and loved it. While the Inn is located in Bar Harbor, it's off the main road on a small side street. The location turned out to be perfect - we had quiet surroundings, yet could walk two blocks to restaurants and less than four blocks to catch the... More

Made very welcome by Terri & Geoff, even though we checked in rather early. The Inn is quiet & peaceful & less than 100 meters from the main street. There was a large, very comfortable bed & the room was spacious & tastefully furnished. Great advice was given for our travels around the island & breakfast was very good. Only... More
