We just returned from a 9 night stay in the Lanikai Garden Studio. It was perfect for my husband and I...so quiet and peaceful; we slept like rocks. Just what we were looking for. Rick and Nini were gracious hosts and very helpful when I ended up injuring my leg while running on the beach. The next time we visit... More

We have been visiting the various Hawaiian islands for over 20 years. Approximately 15 years ago we discovered Lanikai Beach B&B on the windward coast of Oahu and it became our Hawaiian "home". Rick and Nini Maxey are the nicest people you could ever meet. We've watched their 2 college aged daughters grow up into lovely young women and now... More

In Hawaii, we are brought up to learn and live the 'Aloha Spirit' as children, and I'm pleased to say it is alive and well in the little quaint neighborhood of Lanikai, located next to the lazy beach town of Kailua on the windward side of Oahu. Highly regarded as having one of the best beaches worldwide, Lanikai is by... More

We stayed in the "Lanikai Garden Studio," which is attached to the owners' home on the first story of the property. Note: The "Lanikai Tree House" is the second story over the owners' home. All three lodgings share a long, wide driveway. Good: - After studying prices of other Kailua beds and breakfasts, as well as Waikiki high rises, we... More

We are just ending a 5 day visit to Lanikai, staying at the garden studio apartmentt. It has been a wonderful spectacular sleepy visit. The studio is just right for a couple, very private, with its own little back garden to laze around in. It is at the back of the house, so almost no road noise just birds. The... More

We very much so enjoyed our little bungalow! It was beautiful, right near the beach, and wonderfully quiet. The landlord made a point to stop by and make sure we were doing well - he was delightful and sweet, and made us feel very much at home. I would absolutely recommend this location for travelers. This is our third trip to Lanikai. We have stayed at Rick Maxey's properties before and have been very happy. This time is no different. We rented the Lanikai Garden Studio this time, and it is perfect. The studio is very clean and well equiped. Everything we needed was waiting for us upon arrival. Everything for the beach: chairs, towels,... More

We stayed at the Kailua Beachside Oasis in early November and couldn't have been happier. The darling cottage was perfectly appointed, everything we could need to cook great meals and relax was there. It was quiet, close to the beach, and oh so clean. Sue is a gracious host, and she even shared her Hawaiian music with me -- the... More

We stayed in the Garden Studio at the Lanikai B&B from 6/2/09 through 6/7/09. This was our second visit to Oahu together: in 2006, we stayed in Waikiki and loved the powdery-soft beach at Lanikai. I definitely recommend staying at Lanikai rather than Waikiki for a relaxing vacation, and we would recommend this specific B&B. In particular, the garden studio... More

We have just returned home after staying 10 nights in Oahu. This was our first trip to Hawaii, there were 5 people in our group. We spent 3 nights in Waikiki and had a great time there but were footworn and tired when we arrived at Lanikai Hale Mahina for 5 nights. We arrived to find a charming, comfortable and... More
