Just before we left home, I received a notice that because of budget cuts the state was no longer providing sheets for the beds. When we got there, there was a notice that for the same reason they would no be replenishing any supplies. I assume this means you need to bring your own toilet paper, soap, dishwashing, liquid, etc.,... more

These cabins are not maintained at all. The beds are musty and dirty. The toilets are horrible. There were lizards in the cabin. Luckily for us, we had booked this cabin only for one night. There is someone looking for us from above!!! more

We came here and stayed for first 3 of our 10 days in maui. The cabins are very rustic and not very well kept. Although I've heard there have been some improvements since our stay. After about an hour in the cabin my wife said "I didn't come 4000 miles for this". Dirty pans and bathrooms. Linens didnt cover the... more

My brother, sister and i stayed there 4/8-10/09. Loved the location, nice to have a dry, clean place to stay. Bought a pillow at kmart before arriving thanks to other reviews. You need a pillow to sleep, why wouldn't they provide them Nice hot shower. Nice to cook dinner each night and hang out on the porch listening to the... more

Stayed in Cabin #4. It is an excellent location with a lovely view. I' m sure it would be peacuful, except that they were doing some construction on the driveway/road at the time. I sincerely hope that they are planning to update the interior of the cabins! It was reasonably clean but overall gross! Not charming or rustic but worn... more

We drove to Hana and stopped at this beach. It was so beautiful. Black rocks, blue ocean and green trees. It's like something out of a dream. Stop by if you are in Maui. more

My husband (37) and I (31) were staying in Kihei for a week, and we wanted to stay somewhere near Hana so we wouldn't have to do the "Drive to Hana" and back in one day. I'd done it once before and I didn't want to do it again. I had seen the cabins on my last trip through Waianapanapa... more

We stayed for two nights at the Waianapanapa State Park in Cabin #4. We requested that cabin based on other reviews. There are 12 cabins in the State Park, 1 through 6 facing the ocean 7 through 12 in the woods. The cabin was very rustic, but functional. We brought with us mattress covers, sleeping bags and our own pillows.... more

Waianapanapa State Park is one of the most beautiful places in the world. You will never see as many shades of green anywhere else. The greens contrast with the jet black lava and the various shades of blue ocean, making the views here absolutely spectacular! Do stay. Do not rush in on your way back on the Hana Highway. You... more
