This property has two cottages and we stayed in the Mahaina Cottage. The word Mahaina is Hawaiian for Moonlight and it is appropriate. Located about 3000 up the side of Haleakala it has wonderful views from the lanai which overlooks the valley below all the way to the West Maui mountains. There is a nice garden below with many beautiful... More

This review is very belated....but better late than never! My boyfriend and I stayed here last summer and it was the absolute highlight of the 4 places we stayed while visiting Maui. The Mahina Cottage is enormous, private, fully appointed, and just plain beautiful. Our hosts were perfect, gave us just the right amount of attention, and the grounds are... More

To begin our three-stop tour in Maui at Maui Moonlight Garden in the Upcountry was a magical moment. Our hosts, Anne and Marvin, presented Mahena Cottage to us for three nights featuring incredible views of the coast and clouds surrounding Halakela from the deck, advice on local places to walk and eat, freedom to roam their gardens, morning calls of... We stayed in the Lehua Cottage (one of two available) at this B&B, for 2 nights. It is up on the shoulder of Haleakula, so it is out of the humid heat of sea level Maui, yet is not too cold. (A light sweater is a good idea, though). It is quiet except for the sounds of birds and the... More

We have stayed at maui moonlight garden, several times. As always, Anne and Marvin are the gracious hosts and the Mahina Cottage is the best. I would highly recommend anyone, who visits Maui, to check out their website and stay with them. You will not find better hosts and a more beautiful place to stay. More

We stayed in the Mahina Cottage during our honeymoon. There was no better place. We simply loved it and think it was the best place we stayed in during our 4 week trip. The appartment was spacious, cozy and decorated with a mix of english and japanese items. We enjoyed our breakfast on the large patio with perfect scenery (sea... More

When we pulled into the driveway, we were enveloped in this sanctuary feeling. The tall trees and flowers were everywhere. We stayed in the Mahina Cottage and loved it. My husband did miss a TV quite a bit, but he took naps every day on the couch, so all was not lost. I took a nap on the hammock on... More

My traveling partner and I stayed in the Lehua Cottage for 3 nights in June 2009. To us it was truly paradise - no phones (cell phones worked though), no alarm clocks, no TV, no radio. This is truly a place to get away from it all. There were shops within 15 minutes for those that need to use their... More

A millionaire's view on a dime, an extremely comfortable vacation home, and a quietude so overwhelming it could drive me nuts I didn't go there until now -- that, in a nutshell, is Moonlight Garden's Lehua cottage. At daytime, occasional muffled car noise from the road 300 feet or so above the large open patio is all you hear, besides... More

We stayed in the Mahina Cottage for 3 nights in April 2009 and were overwhelmed by the spaciousness, cleanliness, amenities and beauty of the place. We greatly enjoyed our walks in the garden and resting on the deck and hammock. Anne provided us warm coats for our excursion to Haleakala, definitely needed, and useful tips on area sights and activities.... More
