We recently stayed here for 8 nights - far too long. We chose Maui Eco Resort because we wanted a quiet place to relax while on vacation. This was my first and my boyfriend's second trip to Maui. Everything written in the previous post by Jimimhendrix was spot on, but I'd like to add a few more notes. There are... More

My wife I recently stayed at the Maui Retreat, and had mixed feelings about the week we spent there. Location The Maui Retreat is located on the east shore of Maui, and a good distance from most popular sites. If you’re looking for peace, quiet and solitude, then this is your place. However, consider it’s still a decent drive to... More

We found the Maui Retreat quite by accident, simply by surfing the internet. We had never been to maui before and had no idea about the differences between one side of the island or another. We so lucked out, I still cannot believe it. Rather than staying at one of those beach resorts that looks exactly like beach resorts around... More

The Maui Retreat is a paradise. Our stay was inspiring, the beautiful setting of the land, the character of the Eco Thai Hale cottage and the attention to the details were a delight for all the family. Finally we found a real fully furnished kitchen. The morning yoga looking at the ocean was inspiring. Our teenage kids loved it too, and... More

This is a great place to stay for anyone who wants truly experience the beauty and fundamental nature of being on a tropical island. As you approach the retreat, you get hit with a positive flow of energy and you begin to feel your hear charka open. We stayed at the bamboo temple and the dolphin room, both of which... More

If you're looking for your typical predictable island resort hotel with a pool and room service you're not going to find it here, but unlike any resort this place is rich in history and spirit. The rooms are thoughtfully adorned and the land is cared for with great love and reverance - and that is priceless. There's a challenging trail... More

Our experience of Maui Retreat was a heart dive into Maui's magical tropical embrace. It was so healing to get away from the tourist zone and to be in a place of such lovliness and care. We were able to slowly relax into the beauty, slow pace, and peace.

We felt a part of the family at Maui Retreat center as soon as we arrived, when we arrived it was late and one of the owners graciously walked us down to our desitnation temple ''Bamboo Temple" when we stepped thru the door of the temple it took our breath away, more than we expected.... very dreamy and heavenly, nothing... It is now two weeks since we left the Maui Eco Retreat and all I can think about is how soon I can return. It was a life changing experience for me. Raphael and Kutira are the most loving and inspiring hosts, and what this property offers is far beyond "accommodation". The people who only see the veneer have missed... More

I lived on Maui for 6 weeks near the big resorts on the west side, so for my honeymoon, we decided to see what some call "the real Hawaii." We specifically chose Maui Retreat because it fit with our values about sustainability and allowed us to stay for 10 days at the same price you can get two days for... More
