Very small hotel with no frills. Comfy with a restaurant. The staff is friendly and helpful. Good hotel for the value.
If you can live without a television, and if you aren't willing to spend $400 a night for a room, this is the only hotel on Lanai for you. Our room, a "standard," was small but tastefully furnished. The staff was friendly and helpful, especially a desk clerk named Sarah. The restaurant was excellent but much pricier than the hotel...

Although expensive the hotel and all staff were gracious and helpful. Lanai is charming; we enjoyed eating at the local cafes with the locals, nice little shops, spent time at both 4 Season Resorts. All in all we enjoyed our time in Lanai, could walk all over the town, very clean!
As we come from a small SE Alaskan community we found Lanai to be a good fit. The small plane ride from Honolulu reminded us of home. The bus service seemed overpriced at first but we used it a lot and proved to be fair, one driver even made a detour for us to catch the ferry to Maui one...

Lanai is a small Island about 20 miles by 15miles. The hotel is situated in Lanai City the only settlement on the island with about 2000 inhabitants, on high ground overlooking the centre where there are small shops and a supermarket.
The hotel is traditional wooden built, the rooms are of average size with a small shower room. The rooms...

We LOVE Hawaii. We spent 3 nights here. Our flight from Oahu came into Lanai early in the evening. You have to pay an outragious amount to get to ANY of the 3 hotels on Lanai....and it's only about an 8-10 minute ride. Talk about price gauging.
From the outside, it looks very charming...just like you see on the web....

We stayed a couple of nights at the Hotel Lanai in January. We also booked a jeep through the hotel.
First off, we must have had the worse jeep from Dollar. It was rusty, very old, dirty, couldn't open the passenger door and the wipers were not working properly.
At first. we put up with it but decided that we...

We stayed at Hotel Lanai for 3 days and enjoyed our stay. The service was great, very friendly and helpful. Sarah is fantastic, she went out of her way to make our stay enjoyable. The room was quite small and noisy, the walls are very thin so you can hear everything that is going on in the place. The adjoining...

Nice rooms.
No TVs - TVs would be a plus since the evenings are quiet on the town and everything closes early.
Rooms have thin walls. Extremely loud in the evenings and mornings.
Great food at their restaurant. I recommend the ribs and meatloaf!
Breakfast was included. It was simple yet tasty.
My biggest complaint: the hotel overbooked our room...

In addition to ten "regular" rooms, the Hotel Lana has a cottage separated from the main building. It is a wonderful accommodation choice -- a living room, bedroom, and bathroom (with bathtub). It provides a reasonable amount of space, is quiet because there are no shared walls, and is an ideal space if one wants to stay in Lanai City...
