The cabins at the Lodge of Koke'e have received mixed reviews - I read them all and decided to take a chance. I am very glad that I did. Here's the deal - This is NOT a luxury facility. Keep that in mind and you will not be disappointed. Our cabin was HUGE (#12 - Olapa) Located at the end... More

If you're absolutely starving, then it's your only option. But we'd strongly suggest you pack a picnic before heading up. We had a cheeseburger and kalua pork, and they both were not so good. My burger came with one apple slice. Fries or any other sides were not an option. Friendly staff, but service was on island pace. No view... More

Kokee is a jewel: lush, cool and full of native and endemic species. How fun to wake up in an old wooden cabin with a pot bellied fireplace to hear native birds chirping, to spend the day hiking, lounging and enjoying the "off the grid" life - no cell reception, no TV, no hassles. To best enjoy the Lodge: bring... More

My husband and I are pretty adventurous and enjoy the outdoors. We've stayed in state park cabins and we looked forward to staying in the Lodge for the first time since the accommodations are so close to the many hikes the park has to offer. We were a little nervous and concerned after reading some of the reviews that were... More

I like on Kauai and am also an outdoor and nature lover. I am use to roughing it, but these cabins were beyond gross. TRAVELER BEWARE: There is no noise ordinance nor is there any discernment on the part of the management to not rent to teenagers or put up any rules regarding noise. The pillows were moldy and the... We stayed in the Naio cabin. It was very spacious (if a bit dingy) and clean. The shower and cooking facilities worked well. The bed was old and squeaky buy fairly comfortable. The only downside was that the lock didn't work, which could have caused a security issue. The big advantage of these cabins is that you are right in... More

I do not have much to add to what has already been said. The cabins are located in the heart to the park meaning that you do not to stand up too early to start your hiking respectively to see the Napali Coast from the top before the clouds arrive. But seriously, everyone traveling to Hawaii will rent a car... More

About what I expected plus a layer of grease and mold on stove, cabinets and fridge. But I considered it one notch above camping, and the toilet worked! The bed was comfortable with provided linens, but the mattress and blankets were stained. Fire was tough to start but didn't really need it. Chickens will wake you at 4:00am as is... More

First the good part: You can't beat the location. The Lodge is in the middle of the best hiking on Kauai. The views of the Na Pali Coast from the lookouts, especially in the early morning at at twilight, are superlative. We hiked the Awa-awapuhi Trail (6.2 miles, descending (and then climbing!) 1500 feet. Now the bad part: These cabins... More
