Centrally located on the island, clean room and common area, gracious hosts, family/ kid friendly; highly recommend this place if you are looking for a 'real' Kauai experience- away from the hotel/ resort environment. Cathy and Ben- thanks for making our trip that much better- Mahalo! Thanks for sending back our son's toy that was left behind. :-)

Ben and Cathy were so nice and welcoming. They provided us with beach chairs, boogie boards and snorkel gear. The shared living space was great to cook and watch tv. The bedroom was nicely decorated and very clean. Since there's only 2 rooms, we seemed to have the shared space to ourselves the whole time. The view of the mountains... More

Our stay in Kauai was incredible, but it was made complete by coming home to a wonderful place to stay every night. Makaleha Bed and Coffee is tucked nicely into the hills of Kapa'a Town. The room is beautifully decorated with local art. The wooden floors and high ceilings create a spacious feel and the bed is ultra cozy! No... More

We stayed at Makaleha B&C in February, booking it because of its central location and the amazing price per room. The location is a bit away from Kapa'a town - but a 3-5 minute drive will get you to the beach, restaurants, grocery, etc. The seclusion was kind of nice - get ready for the roosters to wake you up... Stayed for two nights in February and just loved the place! Amazing views, lovely house with huge common area! Actually travelled Hawaii islands for four weeks and have to say that the over all value for paid price was definately the best at Makaleha Bed and coffee! We even got a really late check out to do the Sleeping Giant... More

My husband and I spent three nights at Makaleha Bed and Coffee and felt very welcomed and comfortable. The room was beautiful and clean and the common area was also very nice. We enjoyed the location of the Inn and were able to explore much of the island during our time on Kaua'i. We had one full day of rain... More

We were full of expectations based on tripadvisor reviews before our arrival. But what a surprise we found Makaleha B&B even more appealing then outlined here! Nice and spacious rooms with gorgeous view, luxury common area with outside table where breakfast was a pleasure. Big kitchen and laundry. And of course great host Cathy supplying us with beach equipment to... More

This is a great place if you're looking for value and quality in Kapaa or around Kauai. The location is gorgeous and quiet. It is located a little ways outside of the Kapaa itself but the drive is not tedious and you get to experience life outside of the usual tourist spots. The views overlooking the mountains and green pasture... More

This is a beautiful house by the mountains about 3-4 miles inside from Kapaa town. There are only two rooms with a huge common area underneath - with TV and a kitchen This is the kind of place, where you go to unwind and relax. The views are awesome - of the green hills :) Couple of points to note... More

Wonderful location in the lush foothills outside of Kapaa. Fantastic view of the mountains and just a short drive to the beach. Room was tastefully decorated and well appointed. Wonderful morning light and sounds. Owners were helpful but unobtrusive. Be advised this is a nature/rural setting; we saw lots of frogs, spiders, etc...in case that isn't your thing.
