Hina's Bed chamber is not very big but is really comfortable, with a good bed and nice furniture. It gets a lovely breeze in the afternoon and is absolutely peaceful. The adjacent bathroom is large, newly fitted, with a window that can be opened, while the common living room is huge, with a fabulous deck overlooking the ocean. Breakfast is... More

Shelia's bed and breakfast is simply beautiful, and it also happens to be a practical option for anyone wanting to avoid the noise, traffic, and fees of a major hotel or resort. The rooms are decorated beautifully and comfortably, and the view from the upstairs balcony at sunrise and sunset is amazing. Everything is sparkling clean. Breakfast is a simple... More

My friend and I stayed here for our 60th birthdays and we were very impressed. Sheila was a gracious host and made our visit very enjoyable. She had some food items there for us when we arrived and was very helpful and knew the beautiful island well. We liked having local books and restaurant menus avaialble so we could choose... More

As a solo traveler looking for a peaceful base camp for my first trip to Kauai, I made the perfect choice in staying here. I found Laka's Garden to be very clean and well maintained, including everything needed for my 3-day stay. In a lush quiet residential setting at the end of a cul-de-sac, I started every morning with the... More

The whole place was beautiful and immaculate -- Sheila was warm and welcoming and showed outstanding hospitality. I especially appreciated that we could borrow their swim fins, boogie boards and beach towels for when we went to the beach. The breakfasts were wonderful with lots of choices. We had a great time! The most enjoyable vacation in my life, actually relaxed and had more fun then I anticipated I would. Sheila gave me idea's for activities to enjoy, places to eat, while allowing me to feel relaxed during my stay at her beautiful home on the second floor. I was able to get pictures of the rare Monk Seal on second day,... More

I like to explore places when I travel so a beach front resort is never my preference. Instead, cleanliness and a bug free environment are much more important to me. This time I chose Hole O Nanakai mostly because of the good reviews here and they happen to have a room for solo travelers so the price was also incredible.... More

My adult daughter and I stayed with Sheila in late November 2010 and had a wonderful experience. The breakfasts were delicious and we loved that we could eat when WE wanted too - especially being on East Coast time. The B&B is really more like having your own little apt with a spectacular deck and view of the Pacific. And... More
