Volcano Village Lodge is a little piece of heaven located near Volcano National Park on the Big Island of Hawaii. The staff works very hard to create a warm, inviting place. Kelsea, the innkeeper, makes sure all needs are met. She offers great ideas on where to go during your stay. There are comfy robes and slippers, flashlights, beach items,... More

We stay 2 nights in this b&b in Haleakala cottage; the setting is very nice the garden is very cute. The cottage had everything you might need from extra blanket (it is cold up there!) to dvd etc... The bathroom was very cute and very clean. The staff was very nice and helpfull. What we did not like so much... More

Thank you for taking time to add your comments about our unique rainforest lodge. We also appreciate your input and thoughts on our in room breakfast. We ve made it a point to follow the B&B regulations in our area which do not permit us from serving a hot breakfast. While we don't agree with this regulation we have done... More

We spent 4 nights here during out 10th anniversary trip. The "rooms" are really separate cottages in a rainforest garden, well built and very charming. Our place, Hale Kilauea, had floor to ceiling windows on 3 sides with blinds and Japanese screens for privacy. The jacuzzi, on a covered patio, was just a few steps away. You're always aware of... I would never even consider another location as a base for exploring the park. The girls here thought of everything including putting some snacks in with our breakfast so that we had something to take on our hike. It isn't a 5 star resort, there is no TV, and the wireless didn't work in our cabin (the farthest from the... More

The rooms are spacious and have lots of light in wooden cabins. Although advertised as in the middle of a rain forest, it feels more like a big garden in a residential area. It is less secluded than the reviews and description make of it. We did not really meet the innkeepers, except when handing in the keys at the... More

Thank you very much for your feedback. I am sorry you didn't enjoy all aspects of our lodge. We definitely are a unique style property more in line with a rainforest lodge than a typical B&B. Yes, you are right about us not serving a traditional hot B&B style breakfast in a centralized location and it is for two reasons.... More

My husband and I stayed here for three nights at the start of our trip to the Big Island. We flew into of Kona so the drive to Volcano wore us out after our long flights from Indiana. The resort was easy to find using the directions from their website. Jaime quickly gave us a tour and we were thankful... More

This place is a great romantic getaway! Our room was a little small, but very nice and clean, and being almost surrounded by windows made it feel bigger. The windows make you feel like you are sleeping in the rain forest, but is still private since the other rooms are not right next to you. The in room breakfast was... More

This was definitely my favorite stop on our 10 night trip to Hawaii. We stayed in Haleakala, which is an octagon-shaped cabin with windows on all sides opening up to beautiful rainforest views. We mostly left the window shades up all the time because it was so private, and because the surroundings are so beautiful. The lodge was totally unique... More

My husband and I, her daughter, husband and teen-age son and daughter stayed at Volcano Village Lodge a year ago (sorry for the delay in posting this review). It was by far the loveliest and most comfortable accommodations we had on any of the islands. We stayed in two different lodges (Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea), both of which were... More

This is over a year late, but that should tell you what a lasting impression this B&B left on my husband and I. We stayed in the Hale Manaluna lodge for a few nights during our week-long honeymoon in late August of 2010. We arrived after a long day of touring the island perimeter after leaving our 'home-base' hotel in... More
