We recently stayed here to be close to Volcano National Park. Perfect location, secluded and very quiet. Close to the park and restraunts on Old Volcano Rd. The approach to the cottage is glorious - amazingly lush rainforrest drive and easy to find. Bamboo orchid cottage was incredible! My friends and I really enjoyed our time here! The rooms were comfortable and cozy (each had a fireplace) and there was a jacuzzi outside on the patio! We enjoyed meeting Kathy and felt right at home here. Our room (Royal Orchid) was absolutely breathtaking! I could not have decorated it better. This b&b is a conveniently located, well run but above all friendly place to crash on the Big Island. My wife and I spent just one night at the Bamboo Orchid Cottage, and we wish it had been a longer stay. Great room, perfect location to explore the Hawaii Volcanoes NP, and Kathy is the ideal innkeeper. Wonderful breakfast, and the fireplace was a nice (and welcome) touch. We stayed here for the first half of our honeymoon. Kathy is a wonderful innkeeper who has a great attention to detail. We had breakfast in bed each day but you should also consider just eating normal breakfast with the other 8 guests in the cottage. Highly recommended to anyone. More
