Definitely the best place we've stayed in the islands. We were there for 6 days and enjoyed all of them. Cindy and Rick were great hosts and Cindy fixed perfect breakfasts. Her help with things to do and places to go and eat was invaluable! This retreat makes the perfect base of operations and we really did feel right at... More

We had a two night stay and loved it. The room is very private...and you have a private lanai too. Everything was clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were fantastic!!! It was enough food that were able to skip lunch and were fine till dinner. Cindy and Rick were the perfect hosts. We got great tips for things to see and... More

We had a delightful two-night stay at the Ohia House B&B in Pahoa, HI. Our original intention was to stay in Hilo, but we happened to be there during the Merrie Monarch Hula Festival (a very big deal in Hawaii). Everything within 20 miles of Hilo was booked. A TripAdvisor search led us to the Ohia House. What a fortunate... More

Very clean and well kept. The room was nicer and more private than I had expected it to be - it is on the side of the main house and the large lanai you see in the pictures is for the use of the B&B room (there is only 1 room so you are the only guests at the time.) Cindy... More

We were there for 4D/3N and found the grounds to be very spacious and well-kept. Although we spent most of the day out, the patio has nice furniture and landscape to be enjoyed on a wet day. Cindy was a great host, giving us a few tips and suggestions which we found very informative. Breakfast was lovely too; fresh and... More

We wanted to spend a couple of days hiking Volcano National Park but we did not want to stay high up near the park due to the possibility of clouds and rain. The Ohia House was perfect. While in a rain forest, the rain was only at night and the days were sunny. The B&B is very clean and well... More

Our first trip to the Big Island was one to remember (7days). The scenery was incredible, but our stay at Ohia House was one also to remember. Our hosts were very friendly and made us feel welcome in their beautiful Bed & Breakfast. Situated in a very quiet area, lush rain forest. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Every... More

The Ohia House is a great spot to base your exploration of the windward side of the island. This one suite B&B is nicely set up, structurally separate from the main house, yet under the same roof, which also shelters a huge screened in private porch. Hosts Cindy and Rick made us feel very welcome on arrival, offering advise on... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our five nights at the Ohia House. Rick and Cindy are great hosts, with plenty of suggestions for things to see and do all over the island. The room itself is spacious and comfortable, with plenty of amenities. Umbrellas, beach towels and mats, snorkel gear, and a small ice chest for lunch/snacks are all there to bring... More

When we decided to spend two nights of our recent vacation at Ohia House on the Hilo side of Hawaii's Big Island, we were concerned about its off-the-beaten-track location. We arrived at night, and finding the house was a challenge in the dark. Once we arrived, we quickly learned that accepting the challenge had been well worth it. Our room... More
