Prior reviews are very mixed. Our recent experience is with the unit directly below the penthouse. It's roomy and in most respects, even though a bit dated, it's quite pleasant. However, we have to agree with the last reviewer regarding there being a cleanliness issue. Ours was not as extreme. We didn't spot any mold. However, we felt compelled to... More

Room: We had the penthouse suite. The view was beautiful. When we arrived, all the windows were open and the room was cold. When we shut the windows, we were struck by the smell of mildew in the room. The room was still cold (because the weather was cold and rainy) and there was no heater. We had expected to... More

Belle Vue Waimea was the perfect spot for our few nights in Waimea. Located on a hillside above the town, the view was spectacular and the surroundings quiet. On the other side of the road were cattle grazing, but looking downhill you could see Mauna Kea to the left, Mauna Loa straight ahead and the coast to the right. Spectacular!... More

Best place for the price. The penthouse room has excellent view of the sunset. Kitchen and restroom were very clean. Couch could have been cleaner. The host was very courteous and had great suggestions. Nearby attractions: mauna kea observatory, upolo pt, pololu valley and waipio valley. Do not miss out the drive up to mauna kea(its cold up there -... More

The name of the place speaks for itself, it offers a stunning view on the valley! The penthouse suite offers the best sunset ever! The penthouse is incredibly cosy and perfect place for lovers! We recommend to go spend the evening there enjoying cooking and chilling out in the sofa with a glass of wine More

My family and I were visiting O'ahu last March and decided to spend some time on the Big Island. We called around to several B&B's a couple days in advance, but were not having much luck since everyone was full. We contacted Vivian, but she too was booked, but could get us in later in the week. She offered some... More

My friend and I stayed here for one night as we were doing a road trip around the Big Island. When we booked the place, they told us which unit it would be and to just make ourselves comfortable. We walked into what we thought was the place we were renting and it looked like someone's home. We were in... More

(BV WAIMEA REVIEW, PLEASE SEE FURTHER BELOW FOR A REVIEW OF BV KONA) We arrived at BV Waimea around diner time, with no one to greet us or tell us which room was ours. We knocked at the door that looked like the main entrance, only to bother another guest who was just as clueless as we were. We walked... More

Vivian is a sweetheart. Bumped us up to the top suite so we are obviously a little biased but there were amazing views, breakfast was pre-stocked for us in our mini fridge (muffins, granola, Quaker oatmeal, milk/soy milk!!, raisin bran type cereal but way tastier, butter, kona coffee and decaf, sugar, jam, bread) really friendly and clean and nice rooms.... We have stayed in the Penthouse Suite for many years and have always found it to be spacious, comfortable, quiet, friendly, and well-located; with panoramic views to die for. A short walk into town puts you on restaurant row with Merriman's, Daniel Thiebaut, Redwater Cafe, Lilikoi Cafe, and the Hawaiian Style Cafe, to mention a few. The weather is ideal... More
