I was a former UH-HILO student living at Waiakea Villas. My experience was like other reviewers. The apt buildings are connected by a rat & mosquito infested pond. Seen many times at night rats swimming in the pond from myt balcony. Ducks & goose on property dont help either leaving droppings all over. On weekends I have gotten up finding... more

The rooms are small & dirty. Parking lots & property is filled with trash from customers who visits night club on premises.Have known tenants & guests there who have got cars stolen into even with security on duty.Overall, the place lacks management & upkeep of property. more

I would definitely NOT recommend Waiakea Villas! The rooms double as homes to families of very bold cockroaches and the front desk service is terrible. The "hotel" is a combination business park/apartment building/hotel, and all three are mixed in together.
