we loved it! quiet, cool, clean, and cheap. access to a (clean!) kitchen and laundry was a plus. the staff is great and the other guests were respectful. the garden is a tranquil. we walked it several times and found something new to admire each time. oh, and the ICE CREAM is awesome! we definitely recommend it.

This was our favourite place to stay on the Big Island. The staff were extremely hospitable, friendly and were very helpful with local festivities. It is the only hostel with camping facilities - very cute camping sites located in a lovely magical botantial garden.

Definitely the staff makes this place work ! Although away from some of the island's attractions, the very tropical setting is awesome. A gorgeous and secluded beach is a short 5 minute walk away. I plan to return ! Charlie

this place is great! we enjoyed the garden, the mixed clientele, and the off-the-beaten-path experience (including singing frogs). it's very clean, and the staff is helpful and friendly. great beaches.

Trish and Margaret were very welcoming! Although we were left with a smaller campsite for our tent we were only two so it worked fine for us. Stayed here April 2-6. Easy to find. Secure campsite. Store here is great. Coffee ice cream to die for!!! Parking always available. Lockers close to restroom. Washer/Dryer available reasonable price has laundry soap there. Never a problem w/bathroom being available or showers. Wonderful pressure and temperature. Friendly staff.
