Smoking is legal indoors in WY. Don't forget this when staying at Bear Lodge or Elk View. After a day of riding, you sit in the the bar or rest. and get to inhale everyone's smoke. The sled smoke isn't bad as it comes with the sport. But, WOW to the amount of fumes in the rest/bar!! Pool/Jacuzzi isn't good... More

I don't want to be too mean but this place looks like and smells like s&@t. It seriously reminded me of my dead grandpas nursing home! F@&$!d up. More like the rusty nail inn! Save yourself the money and sleep in your truck. More

The rooms are outdated and dirty. I was here on a sled trip and Linda in the bar was rude and so slow you could lose your buzz. The resturant was fast and food was fine. We went to use the getto hot tub and it was shut down, it didn't the inspection that day......ish. We asked a house keeper... More

I must say you are traveling to the wilderness not the Ritz, yes there will be flies, bugs, bears and vermon but best of all there is a wonderful view. As for the Lodge it is rustic and the fact that it is on Forest Service ground they are not allowed to disturbe the land like grading the roads. This... More

We travel all over Wyoming, staying both in towns and in more isolated lodges. Bear Lodge Resort is in a great location for soaking up the ancient rocks of the Big Horns. On our recent 5-night trip, this was our most expensive room, yet it was my least favorite. Besides the cozy bar (I don't drink) with a fireplace, nothing... More

We were on a 9 day road trip through Wyoming and Montana and stopped at the Bear Lodge Resort. We were going to camp in their RV "Park" but one look at the rutted, uneven, junk surrounded site and we drove onto the beautiful public campground at Sibley Lake. Deciding to give it another try, we went for dinner at... More

First off, I've read some of the negative reviews and I'm scratching my head as I've stayed here 3 times, years apart and have had a great experience every time. Remember, you are staying at an old rustic lodge on top of the Bighorn Mountains, not the Ritz in NYC!! Part of why I enjoy this place is the rustic... More

I was there with a small child and my husband. My baby was asleep and I decided to crawl in bed. I throw back the blanket only to discover a skid mark-not a stain-a skid mark, as I went to investigate the pillows, I found a bed bug, THEN fresh, unwashed blood on the pillow. I hunted down a bar... More

You can grow old waiting for any kind of service from this place. We waited over 20 minutes in the restaurant for a waitress and then 1 hour/10 minutes later our food arrived. Only one person handles taking reservations/money for the gift shop/gas/restaurant so you can stand in line for a long time. Our cabin had hundreds of dead flies/moths... More

The rooms at Bear Lodge are okay at best. I stayed there for three weeks on business. Twice, I had to ask to have my room cleaned. The second time I had to go to the management to insist that my room be cleaned! Unacceptable!!! The wait staff in the hotel were terrible. There was several times I had to... More
