I always stay at South Fork when I am in the Bighorns and have stayed there a number of times during the last few years. The cabins are clean, comfortable and relaxing. The owners(Wayne and Holli Jones) and their staff go the extra mile to make sure you are taken care of well. The lodge has a rustic beauty and a... More

For the past three years my son and I have spent our " father and son vacation week" at Southfork Lodge in Buffalo, Wyoming. The cabins are true mountain cabins, rustic to the eye but contain all of the modern features most of us desire when traveling. Our cabin had a heated stone floor, an immaculate bathroom with shower, and... More

My husband and I traveled out to Wyoming this summer and south fork was by at the best place we stayed at! The family owned business worked hard to make us happy. The food was excellent and I definitely recommend the horse back ride! It was beautiful! We stayed in a rustic cabin that was built in the early 1900's!... More

They were very friendly and treated us like we were friends. The place is beautiful and the food very good! I suggest a horseback ride while your there, we do not ride... More

Just wanted to tell everyone what a great time we had at South Fork Mountain Lodge. We always wanted to stay in a rustic log cabin and live in the mountain air for awhile. We found just the right place to do this. It was so much fun , the cabin was beautiful and rustic (even though it had a... More

My husband and I stayed at Sourth Fork Moutain lodge in October. The scenery was breathtaking and the weather was outstanding. The owners of the lodge were so helpful in giving us ideas of areas to visit/attractions to see. Our cabin was a modern one and was very clean and the beds were so comfortable. We ate in their lodge... More

actually it pains me a little to write such a negative review because the staff that work here are so nice and the food so excellent. but, this site is all about comparing notes and saving other travelers the bad experiences we have and sharing the great finds. it's not that this place is a nightmare and it has some... This is a long read, but if you are considering South Fork, please read on... The good: Beautiful Mountains, Decent lodging (macro view), great stable and horse ride experience. This could have been the highlight of our trip, but..... The bad: Attitude, cleanliness, guest treatment. Was greeted with a smile upon arrival, but went downhill quickly when smaller and larger... Easy access to hiking and fishing in the magnificent Bighorns. Cabins are very simple yet comfortable. Owners are very helpful with hiking recommendations, directions to local trailheads, etc. Good food in the restraunt - "keep going all day" breakfasts, and for dinner the chef knows a thing or two about steak. Waitresses downright charming. Elevation much higher than Buffalo, and... More

8 of us were on a motorcycle trip to Cody/Yellowstone. June 12th we were on Highway 14 heading to Cody, day started out raining and then turned to snow. We had just driven past The South Fork Lodge when the decision was made it just wasn't safe to be on the snow covered roads on two wheels. Slowly and carefully... More
