This is the unknown gem of Wausau - a great hotel at a great price. All the amenities, including fitness room, indoor pool, breakfast, refrigerator in room, fairly new and right next to a McDonalds along with many other restaurants within walking distance. A hospital emergency drove us to Wausau and we phoned ahead to see if we could get a room, the front desk staffer was beyond kind and understanding, assured us there'd be space and it was no problem to bring our dog. They added charges on my bill for a room safe I did not use or even know I had. When I questioned them about it, they said I had agreed to it at check in. It was in the fine print by the area they had me initial when I signed in. Funny how they never mentioned it. More
