Wow! We were amazed as soon as we got there. This hotel is perfect for a family reunion. We stayed in Speidel Cottages which are better. They are far away from everybody else. My family and I did not stay in the Wilson Lodge but in the Azalea Cottage located near the Lodge. It was very spacious with 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. We stayed in a standard room for 1 night to break up a road trip. Highlights for the kids were the deer on the golf course outside the lodge, the lodge decor (rustic - stone and wood beams), the indoor swimming pool - very warm and large, in a big room with ping-pong tables and lots of tables and chairs... more

The new Spa is fantastic. Had a great massage at reasonable price. We stayed in a premium room which was very nice, clean, a great bathroom, fireplace and a great view of the lake. Firstly we did not stay in the Wilson Lodge but in one of the cottages in the grounds (Bluet) which was absolutely fantastic! We went for Xmas and had just the best time ever. We visited Wilson Lodge December 26th to take the kids to see Oglebay's festival of lights. Although their site claimed no availability I made one call to the resort and voila, we were able to get a suite. Oglebay Resort is a quaint Lodge set amongst a beautiful setting in WV, just one hour from Pittsburgh. We stayed here in the new Lodge Addition which boasts 500 square foot rooms with fireplaces, and large oversized bathrooms with double vanities and separate walk in showers and bathtubs.
