With Grandma's closed, please try the Avalon Resort. While it is a clothing optional destination, they welcome hikers and cyclists. This option is family friendly and has both camping and room options available. http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g59403-d654830-Reviews-Grandma_s_Country_Kitchen_Inn-Paw_Paw_West_Virginia.html

According to a telephone call in April, 2012, I was informed that this bed-and-breakfast has ceased operation, and the hotel is now a private home.

My wife and I stayed at Grandma's while on a bicycle trip from Cumberland to Washington on the C&O Canal Towpath. The restaurant/inn is less than one mile from the trail and is easy to find. We expected having to climb some steep hill from the trail to Paw Paw, but the town is built on the lower ground close... More

We stopped here after biking on the C&O canal. Couldn't find anyone so the waitress in the restaurant jerked her thumb over her shoulder and said to knock next door - we did and still couldn't get anyone. She then actually got rude and said I TOLD you to knock next door! The other waitress finally checked us in and... More

Stopped in for breakfast. This is NOT the kind of food grandma would make -- unless she did not know how to cook. Ding ding ding went the microwave in the back after our order was made. And out came horribly nuked "biscuits" and gloopy flavorless gravy (these things are NOT hard to make from scratch, guys). The rest of... More

A short bike ride from the C&O towpath is the small town of paw paw. In the town there are two places to stay. We choose this one and while the rooms were clean and above average, the food at the inn was way below average. I think I would skip paw paw next time I am biking on the... More

Grandma's Country Kitchen & Inn was a wonderful stop on the C&O Towpath. We arrived on a wet, cold day to a clean, warm inn with beautiful, up-to-date rooms. The large porch and grounds gave us a good place to shed the mud from the trail. And the washer/dryer was a wonderful luxury for our family of cyclists. there's not... More

We arrived in Paw Paw not knowing what to expect. Grandma's blew our minds away. The rooms were clean, the bathrooms newly remodeled, and the staff especially helpful. Wew had come in off the C & O Canal, so we had our bikes. There was a place to store our bikes. I would also highly recommend going to Grandma's kitchen... More
