I laughed when I read the two other reviews of this place. We stayed here a few years ago while attending a concert at Carnegie Hall and had a similar experience. Eventually met by a somewhat impaired lodge keeper who gave our room to a more "favored and frequent" guest who called as we were explaining our reservations. My husband called ahead earlier that day to make a reservation. He was told that I would have my choice of rooms, including a separate cottage for the same low rate. I arrived shortly after dark.
