We just spent three days and two nights at the Blackwater Falls State Park Lodge, located near Davis, W. Va. The lodge is typical of those in state parks. Don't expect elegance, and the place needs a facelift but it is nice for a park locale. Trails are very convenient to the lodge, and the park is great. More

Blackwater Falls State Park Lodge is a great place to stay. It's inexpensive and there's beautiful hiking just steps away. The temperatures always are cooler here than in Baltimore or Washington, DC.
