Innkeepers Carol & Ed Fisher aim to please with their gracious hospitality, immaculately clean accomodations and delicious home cooked meals. Within 40 miles of both Canaan Valley & Timberline ski resorts, North Fork Mountain Inn is the perfect place to recover from long days on the slopes with amenities such as whirlpool tubs, massage packages and a billiard & game... If you're looking for a secluded picturesque mountain getaway that doesn't require you to kill your meal or sacrifice comfort; this is it! Ed and Carol have made an oasis for burnt-out Washington DC workers in the rugged mountains of West Virginia. We couldn't have asked for a better way to ring in the new year than with mountain views,... More

My wife and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary at the North Fork Mountain Inn and were not disappointed. Ed and Carol Fischer were so friendly and treated us like we were friends for years. We stayed at the Monongahela Suite which was a beautiful log cabin away from the main inn. Gas fireplace, flat screen TV with DirecTV, gorgeous... More

We experienced a great weekend at the Inn. The setting was amazing with great mountain views from the porch and our room. We stayed in one of the suites. Carol and Ed were very friendly and accommodating hosts. One of the most spectacular moments of the weekend was my massage. The therapist was one of the best I've ever had... More

This is my second review of the property. I stayed here on business again recently and returned to find it having been recently reviewed in the Washington Post Travel section. Here is the link to the article: http://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/travel/bed-check-mountain-dreamin-in-w-va/2011/09/02/gIQAx58jFK_story.html As the previous reviews indicate it is "off the main road" but once you get to the property you will forget about... We stayed here in December 2010 and had a lovely stay! Pros: Very clean, pretty, comfortable rooms decorated in a country style. Beautiful scenery--the inn is a relatively new log building set halfway up a wooded hillside. Friendly, helpful hosts. Fresh baked cookies daily. Near to all kinds of great outdoor activities. The best food you're going to find w/in... More

We enjoyed the cleanliness of the Inn. It was nice to sit on the front porch and look at the view. When we arrived we were given a tour of the Inn which was very nice. Please note that the Inn is way off the 'main' road. 7.5 miles of curves through the woods. The drive up to the Inn... More

My partner and I decided on a weekend escape to West Virginia (from the DC suburbs). We read about this Inn in the Washingtonian and decided to give it a shot - we're so happy we did, and we are already planning to return in the fall. An easy 2.5-3 hour drive gets you to the North Fork Mountain Inn,... More

My sister and I stayed at the Inn. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The breakfast was delicious. We also arranged for dinner (which is the only way to go). The dinner was wonderful. It's a great place to stay and explore the surrounding area. During the afternoon we drove down to Big Bend Campground and swam in the river (near... More

This is more resort than B&B. Always excellent breakfasts. The suites, and rooms are quaint, rustic, and modern as can be for log cabin style living. Excellent water pressure, adequate hot water. Spacious suites, well kept, wildlife, and scenery to boot. Deer grazing contently in the front yard looking up at you as you sit on the front porch. Luna... More
