I moved to Spokane ten years ago and first noticed the Montvale when bussing to work. While my wife and I have never stayed anywhere downtown, we were always interested in the area and decided to book a hotel room for our anniversary this year. I thought the Montvale might be a good place to try given its location, history... More

My husband and I stayed one night after riding our motorcycle for 6 hours in the rain. we were looking forward to a king bed room, dinner at the Catacomb, a nice bottle of red, and a good nights rest. They did not reserve our King room. We overlooked the back alley and garbage bins. The restaurant was closed......the bathroom... More

Dear Sugarshacklulu, I'm so sorry that your stay was such a disappointment, though I'm so glad our staff made you feel welcome in spite of the difficulties. There's no excuse for the fact that your room wasn't spotless, and we're addressing your points with our housekeeping team. We sincerely appreciate the feedback, though, and we'll use it to impress our... More

Dear PandT154914, Thanks so much for posting your feedback on your stay at The Montvale. You are right that the hotel is going through a transition with new ownership and management, but we're not reinventing the wheel. You'll notice that the things that make this hotel great (the staff, the history, the location) are just the way you left them.... More

Just down from the Davenport, the Montvale is another great choice for an affordable room in a great historic hotel. The atrium on the second floor is furnished with antiques they rotate from their warehouse is a great place to take a drink and read or relax in front of the fire. Rooms are on the small side, but very... More

Fantastic stay. I can not believe I got to stay at this place for $90. This is a small, but VERY clean...no...SPOTLESS hotel in downtown Spokane. The staff was amazing and the housekeepers especially got every speck of anything in the rooms. It was like a show room floor when I would come back to my room in the evening.... More
