The Old Trout Bed and Breakfast is a wonderful place. The breakfasts are like eating in a 5* French restaurant. The rooms are very comfortable. the setting is sublime. The hosts will cook dinner for their guests. We did that and it was wonderful. Take your time and relax with a great dinner and a wonderful bottle of wine. If... more

We have just returned from Orcas island and spent 4 nights at the Old Trout inn. We had wonderful gourmet unusual breakfasts, enjoyed the hot tub, loved the grounds, flower and vegetable gardens, the many different birds, and walking around the peaceful pond. We loved the fancy dinner that we ate on the deck overlooking the pond. We went to... more

First off, this is not in Eastsound village (where we wouldn't particularly want to stay anyway), but more in Westsound (you won't find that on a search). It is secluded and off the beaten path, so be aware that you really need to go up to Eastsound (or take the ferry to San Juan island) to have dinner. We stayed... more

Cathi & I went to Orcas Island for the two day Thanksgiving Holiday. We came onto the island early and arrived about an hour before checkin, so we walked around the grounds when we didn't raise anyone at the door of the main house. Henri met us while we were walking about and greeted us warmly. We rented the cabin... more

We spent two nights at the Old Trout Inn on Orcas Island. First of all, the island is absolutely lovely. The Old Trout is pleasant looking enough and the grounds are well kept. Our "suite" was attached to the main dining room of the house so we felt like there was NO privacy -- as if every noise we made... more

My husband and I have spent two lovely and memorable weekends at the Old Trout Bed and Breakfast. We were treated by its owners, Henri and Nicole, like family! We so enjoyed their warm and gracious hospitality, delightful conversation, exquisite food, and lovely lodging set in such peaceful surroundings! It is a Bed and Breakfast run with love and care.... more

My husband and I visit the Old Trout Inn nearly once a month and have enjoyed each visit. The Inn keepers are wonderful people. If you are looking for a relaxing weekend and an amazing meal, don't look any further! more

Henri and Nicole have such a gift when it comes to making you feel welcome! We were made to feel as if we were family during our 2 night stay. We didn't want to leave! Nicole amazed us with her talents in the kitchen--she makes an amazing lamb! And Henri's hospitality is top notch. We have wonnderful memories of our... more

Grounds are beautiful. Well kept. Innkeepers were patient with our unforeseen, DIFFICULT circumstances. They were gracious from time to time and quite interesting to talk to, once. BUT WHEN THEY WERE WERE IN THEIR CUPS (DAILY FROM ABOUT NOON) THEY WER E ABUSIVE, INTIMIDATING, THREATENING AND, I BELIEVE, UNSAFE TO MANAGE THE FACILITY. They have their story, too, but they... more

This was the worst experience I have ever had with an innkeeper and I have stayed at all kinds of lodgings all over the world over the past 30+ years. The owner was unbelievably difficult, insulting and irrational. After two relatively peaceful days--although I did feel a bit like I was walking on eggshells--I ended up checking out in the... more
