You deserve to visit this wonderful place. I could ramble on how much we enjoyed ourselves but what you really want to know - is this as nice as it looks on the web? YES and better! We have been blessed to travel over the last 5-6 years of our marriage and we have both agreed we will return to... more

Sugar Tree is a great find. The hosts are observant, but not intrusive. the physical plant is great...log structures...stone fireplaces..very romantic. There are just a couple of things to be aware of, however. Not detrimental, necessarily, but be aware. First while the hosts do a great breakfast, they serve dinner only on weekends. It is a LONG drive for food... more

We are a 30 minute drive to any of a dozen or so restaurants in Lexington or Staunton and a 20 minute drive to a good German restaurant in Greenville. Considering the drive is a peaceful, relaxing one through the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Shenandoah Valley, it hardly qualifies as “a LONG drive”. Driving here is...

We did not have a problem drivng from Washington to the Sugar Tree we drove the Shenandoah Nat Park for most of the way the drive to the Inn is steep but not a problem. We stayed in the log house enjoying the log fire which was very romantic. Whilst eating our homemade breakfast we enjoyed watching the local wildlife which... more

I chose Sugar Tree Inn since I wanted to spend the night in a rustic lodge in the mountains while doing the Fall tour of the scenic parkway with some hiking. I wasn't disappointed. The sunset is one of the best I've witnessed. It's everything I had hoped for: jacuzzi in the room and a stone floor to ceiling wood-burning... more

What a relaxing place and a great way to slow down from our busy lives. We stayed in the Goshen Room in the loghouse and loved it. No phones, no tv. Comfy bed; AC was windows wide open - we slept great. Jeff and Becky would ask at breakfast if anyone needed any assistance making plans for the day. My... more

We enjoyed our stay here many years ago, and fortunately knew to take a 4 wheel drive vehicle to get down the treacherous unpaved switchback road down a sheer mountainside. Once we got there, we were delighted to find only improvements to the inn we fell in love with years ago. Jeff and Becky are marvelous - hospitable but not... more

While our driveway is one lane with several curves and is a bit steep in places, it is in no way treacherous. It is completely paved except for a 100 yard stretch which is flat, and four wheel drive is never required, even in winter. We, of course, appreciate the complimentary tone of the rest of this review but I...

My husband and I just got back from staying 3 nights at the "Sugar Tree Inn"...We are hooked for life! This is, without a doubt, the best place we have ever stayed! It is such a perfect getaway; quiet, beautiful, secluded...Our room, "The Sugar Tree" is hands-down the most perfect room we have ever had. Everything is made from 125... more

My husband heard of Sugar Tree Inn from a coworker who recommended it. We were in desperate need of a weekend getaway after a tough year and this was perfect. We only live about 1 hour and a half away, so we weren't in the car too terribly long, but once we were there, we felt like we were worlds... more

The Sugar Tree was a wonderful place for us to get away and relax for the weekend. Our great weekend started as soon as we pulled up. We were greeted by Becky when we arrived. She gave us a wonderful tour and then showed us to our room. Our room was very cozy, welcoming, and very relaxing. We were able... more

We have stayed at the Sugar Tree Inn for the past three years while visiting our daughter during her collegiate Parents' Weekend. It is a bit of a drive to get back and forth, but we have always found it worth it. The Inn is comfortable in every respect: from the huge bed in the expansive Tye Room to the... more
