We staying at the King George Inn for two nights on our trip down South from from Connecticut in April and it was an excellent choice! Lynn and Jim Hunt, the Innkeepers, are 2 of the nicest individuals you could ever meet and the Inn is a historic, totally restored house with all the comforts of home. The breakfast are... More

I am not much of one for B&Bs, having spent many decades as a business traveler. That said, our stay at Jim and Lynn Hunt's place has moved me towards a conversion. We were greeted on our arrival, after a long drive in the rain, in the driveway, and made to feel at home from the first moment. Our 2nd... More

We visited the King George Inn last week on our way to Tennessee. It was exactly half way to our destination. We were greeted by Lynn outside and Jim gave us the grand tour inside. The sitting room on the first floor is a very light and cheery room. Our room on the second floor was very nice and the... More

After a long ride, we drove up to The King George Inn. The door of this lovely historic home opened and we were greeted by Lynn, Jim, and their beautiful inn. We were quickly made welcome with a glass of wine and cheese and crackers. Lynn and Jim are friendly and interesting. They offered suggestions of places to go and... More

We really enjoyed our stay at the King George Inn, which is a beautiful old brick Roanoke mansion. All the rooms are huge and nicely furnished. The dinning room and sitting room on the first floor are like a Victorian museum, just add some characters from a Jane Austen novel. Jim and Lynn were very nice and breakfast was superb.... More

My wife and I enjoyed a very pleasant visit this past weekend at the KGI. The inn is actually even nicer than it looks on their website. The house itself is a beautiful historic Georgian mansion with very large, well decorated rooms and high ceilings throughout. We stayed in the Queen Victoria room - elegant, spacious, and very comfortable. The... More

We stayed at the Inn mid-week on our way from Nashville to Richmond. Jim and Lynn were excellent hosts. They have a beautiful old home in excellent condition with comfortable beds. Lynn prepared a delicious breakfast before we resumed our travels. Their knowledge of local restaurants and attractions is amazing. Located in the historical district, it is not hard to... More

Jim and Lynn are justifiably proud of the restoration of there stately 1906 house. The house, room, and breakfast were all outstanding! We found Lynn's description of the history of Roanoke coupled with the many different lives of the house (private residence, doctor's office, apartment building, and B&B) very interesting.

I live near Roanoke and so I am familiar with many of the local lodging options. Of course, I have a favorite. When the opportunity arises for a quick week-end get away to shop and enjoy the downtown Roanoke market place area, you can't beat the King George Inn for a perfect place to stay. Lynn & Jim totally spoil... More
