We really enjoyed our stay at the King George Inn, which is a beautiful old brick Roanoke mansion. All the rooms are huge and nicely furnished. Jim and Lynn are justifiably proud of the restoration of there stately 1906 house. The house, room, and breakfast were all outstanding! We found Lynn's description of the history of Roanoke coupled with the many different lives of the house (private residence, doctor's office, apartment building, and B&B) very interesting.

I live near Roanoke and so I am familiar with many of the local lodging options. Of course, I have a favorite. When the opportunity arises for a quick week-end get away to shop and enjoy the downtown Roanoke market place area, you can't beat the King George Inn for a perfect place to stay.
