This hotel appears to have been recently updated. We enjoyed our stay. It is close to downtown, but more affordable than the downtown hotel. Room included a microwave and refrigerator. Free breakfast is also provided. more

Stayed 1 night on a cross country trip. Clean , well maintained, quiet comfortable, staff friendly, free breakfast fine. Near to down town Roanoke and local sights. Just what you should get for the money. Nothing extraordinary and no complaints. Have stayed here before when in the area and will stay again. more

We stayed one night on a two day trip. Check in easily at 10.00 PM . Room was clean and quiet. Good breakfast. Did not use any other facilities. more

We visit Roanoke occasionally to see relatives and found that the Holiday Inn Express is an underappreciated motel. Located very close to the center of the city--much closer than most other motels--and just off the central parkway, it has a staff that tries very hard to provide everything the short-stay traveller needs. Cannot understand how this is rated so highly. Given a smoking room despite reserving a non-smoking. Bathroom door is the narrowest I have ever seen, but then again, the bathroom itself is about the size of a closet. Clean & fresh would not describe this hotel. Looking for budget & basic - then you'll be happy. more

Unlike others I Felt as if the property was overpriced for what was offered, I felt dirty as soon as I walked into a smelly, Dirty room. We stayed here for one night. Check inn was a breeze, the room was clean with a good air conditioner, the pool was nice, the staff helpfull and the breakfast was good. What more could you ask for? Btw, our regards to Rita!!! more

The Holiday Inn Express a great place to stay. Rooms were clean. Double beds, desk area. Bathroom is on the smaller side although very clean. Hotel has outside pool. They have no exercise room but give you acess to the YMCA directly across the street. The breakfast bar they give offer has alot of things to offer including fresh fruit.... more

This Holiday Inn Express was very nice-clean rooms, good (free)breakfast and a very reasonable price. The complimentary chocolate chip cookies were an added bonus! We also enjoyed that it was within walking distance to downtown Roanoke. more
