While visiting a newphew in Portsmouth, we stayed with Anne at the Glen Coe. She has a wonderful warm Scottish accent and is full of stories. The home is warmly decorated with tartans and books on Scotland. (The Scotland reference is why we chose this B&B.) We could not have been happier. The food was fantastic and after breakfast, Anne... We spent four days at the Glencoe Inn this fall. It was an excellent time. We especially enjoyed the top floor with all its room and patio. Anne is a great host and the breakfasts are wonderful. More

My wife and I have traveled extensively, both domestically and internationally, and have stayed in dozens of B&Bs along the way. The Glencoe Inn unequivocally ranks among the best. Anne is a wonderful proprietor -- a lovely and generous person, helpful without being overly solicitous. Her place is magnificent. We had the entire third floor to ourselves, which afforded us... My husband and I were down in Portsmouth for the 24th annual cock island sailing race and we were looking for a nice quiet and affordable place to stay after the race. My new bride and I LOVED ending our honeymoon at the Glencoe Inn. When comparing with other local B&B's, it was Anne's hospitality that won us over. There were even melt-in-your-mouth cookies and flowers in our room. Thanks Anne! Great location, great restoration, great food, great host. Stay at the Glencoe Inn. More

My friend and I needed a short respite from the rat race in DC and decided to go on a VA weekend getaway. We stayed at the Glencoe Inn because it was affordable and close enough to Norfolk. This was exactly the haven we were looking for! We got the whole third floor to ourselves including a private deck. The... More

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the Glencoe Inn. It is a lovely Victorian home with a Scots touch and an inviting front porch. Anne is a very gracious hostess and a great cook. The breakfasts were delicious and fresh herbs from her garden complimented the meals. Our room was very pretty and had a large bath... More
