We stayed for 2 nights. The accommodation is basic but fine for a couple of nights. The shower provided hot water albeit not at much power. The rooms have a fridge and there is a communal kitchen and laundry.

A YHA is a YHA anywhere - best for budget/solo travellers more interested in spending time out of the room than in it. We took the combined Sealink coach/ferry package from Adelaide and 2 minutes after disembarking the ferry were settling into our room. I stayed one night at the Kangaroo Island YHA during a two-day tour of Kangaroo Island. Up front - the only negative of staying here was that I could have gotten almost two hours' more sleep had I stayed in Kingscote rather than Penneshaw because of the drop off order of my tour.
