The Hotel du Forum is a three star property with an excellent restaurant but the hotel rooms, while clean, need re-decorating and the bathrooms are in need of modernisation. The main reason for staying there is to eat well! They used to have a gourmet restaurant and a brasserie. They have essentially merged the two and the result is very nice - excellent food at reasonable prices. It is a good place to stay if you are en route from northern Europe to Italy via the St Bernard and need an overnight stop. When you are in Martigny don't forget to visit the Fondation Gianadda, a world-class museum (they often ollaborate in shows with the Metropolitan Museum of New York) with a lovely sculpture garden. more
