We wanted to stay at another hotel based on our prior readings, but as we were passing this beautiful hotel, we just decided we wanted to stay there. Beautiful building, friendly staff, right next to the main plaza, good A/C!:) more

The rooms are air conditioned with private baths. Colonial Nicaragua and only 35 minutes from Managua to Granada. If you have a late arriving flight or an early departing flight, it is much better to overnight in Granada than Managua. The hotel is central on the main park and across from the cathedral. Out the front door and to the... more

For Central America standards this is a classy hotel. It is v centrally located in the main square & has a restaurant & bar with a balcony overlooking the square. Staff were v friendly & breakfast was good with seating around a small lush courtyard. Pool is small but nice to have. Rooms were nice -only downside was poor showers... more

Very centrally located, just 30 second walk to the central park. Restored mansion that is in good shape. Two floors. A nice looking place with a large pool in the main area. Double occupancy on the ground floor at $100 plus tax. Decent size room with high ceiling, individual a/c and ceiling fan. Fairly large size TV. Plumbing worked well... more

I must say that I had difficulty relating our stay at this hotel to a review recently posted of the hotel. We stayed at the hotel on 2 occasions for a total of 3 nights over a period of 6 days. From the onset, we found the reception staff, porters & restaurant staff extremely friendly & helpful. We asked for... more

Firstly, I have to say that I've stayed on several occasions in this hotel..and until last week, all went well. Not a "first class" hotel they claim to be, by far, though the price would lead you to believe otherwise. While this has been the most expensive place in Granada it was only tolerable because of the "o.k." service they... more

We recently had the pleasure of visiting Granada, Nicaragua and stayed 2 nights at La Gran Francia and had a great stay. The hotel is right off the Central Park and is surrounded by great restaurants. Our room had a comfy bed and a balcony and AC, which, I'm not going to lie, was GREAT to walk into after walking... more

Ya-a-a-h...It's OK. It's a beautiful renovation job. Some kind of dream of Portugal, or someplace like that. But when you get past the look...Nothin's really happening. It doesn't really seem to relate to its surroundings that much, and the staff in general seem bored to tears and unable to work up much enthusiasm for life, and especially for YOU. With... more

We have been both on a 10 days trip in Nicaragua from the 16 of April to the 26, we have visited a number of hotels and here is what we found: The Hotel La Gran Francia in Granada dates back to 1524 and has been fully renovated over the past few years; the hotel building is separated from the... more

i liked this place, it has a lot of style and really gives you a wonderful experience of staying in a colonial building so typical for Granada. My room was downstairs and therefore a bit dark, try if you can get a room upstairs as i expect these have more daylaight. Loveley bathroom (although as noted in other reviews the... more
