This place is one of the best place to attend the Ganga aarti where you can spend wonderful time.. You will find it very divine and peaceful standing there and watching the aarti.. TRy and reach before sunset so that you get a proper place to stand because there is a lot of rush later on.. the ashram from the inside is also beautiful !! Its a must visit place in Rishikesh..

WORST ashram in rishikesh. They are only interested in foreigners and VIP's. They provide dirty rooms to common pilgrimage and room charges are no less than hotel charges. The rooms are filled with Rats , dirty bathrooms and when you complain about the facilities the staff behaves very rudely. If you are visiting Rishikesh with family kindly book a hotel as you atleast get the facilities and friendly staff. It's a humble request please do not stay here if you are visiting with your family.

The entire experience was very good. The atmosphere around was very serene and healthy. The stay was good and the canteen was very good in terms of food quality and variety too. The ashram also has yoga sessions and ayurvedic massage

The entrance is beautiful. There is a huge gate and from this gate you can view the great River Ganga too. Between the great Ganga and the gate is the famous statue of Lord Shiv. Its almost divine. This ashram is more than 80 years old and is beautiful with so many idols of Gods and Goddesses across the location. We had dinner here. The restaurant is deep into the ashram. A bit difficult to find though. It was a self-service restaurant. The food was given quickly. We had pizzas and burgers. We also had Roohafza drinks and tea too! The food was refreshing and quick. The rates competitive. The service quick. And we were all hungry. The only disappointment was the washrooms – they need to be looked after.

We stayed at Parmarth niketan for two days. Its a good property with many features to be visited especially the Ganga arti ,which is at a ghat very near to the ashram. However the room ( the AC one, forget about the non ac one)maintenance is extremely poor. The washrooms are Ill maintained, the rooms have seepage and cobwebs, the beds are creaky, the linen and blankets looked dirty, frequent power cuts with inverter support extending to bare minimum lights and fan, there being no bell/ intercom, the housekeeping support leaving by 5pm. To add to the woes the system is such that while booking rooms there's no option displayed for room preference, and one is totally dependent on the reception staffs discretion and goodwill, which may or may not be exercised to your satisfaction. Surely, the management could do much better on this front.Best wishes!!

1. We went for a Retreat organised by PBWF aka Mr LM Kapoor 2. The Ashram was full and we got rooms on 2 nd floor , with a steep flight of steps ( no lifts). 3. Luggage was transported by porters with trollies who have tie up with Parmarth. 4. Rooms booking was done by PBWF and charges are very nominal @ Rs 1000/- day with AC rooms. 5. Location is very good and evening Arti is one of the sought after events in Rishikesh, specially when Swami Chidanand is in attendance. 6. Food arrangements are good in the Hridayam restaurant in Parmarth and we were served Vegan PB meals courtesy PBWF / restaurant. Quality of food was very good. 7. Room cleaning needs improvement and you have to persue with them for services. 8. The lane above the Ganges River to Rishikesh from Parmarth was in bad shape due to digging to lay cables / etc- leading to lot of inconvenience. 9. Weather was good and was gradually warming up while we were there from 12-16.4.23. 10. For the purpose of retreat, cooking was not allowed to demonstrate plan based meals- we missed this part of the retreat.

Incredible place, with great energy, the canteen food is the best, and the ayurvedic practice on the grounds is also very good. Arti is incredible, however, suggest hiding money/valuables as thieves cut into our bag during Arti.

Best Ashram for stay if you get the booking in new block and AC room. Obviously, this is for traveller who want to witness more religious stuff rather than cosy vacation. Room are basic and good. Cleanliness is worth appreciating. Rules are well written. Food option in the ashram and surrounding are in plenty Best part is Ganga Aarti. It found is way better than Har Ki Poudi aarti.
