I ended up here after being misled by my travel agent. The lobby is dated, with tired teak and tatty sofas. The rooms open onto exposed corridors and have no carpets. Everything feels shabby and out of date and there are frequent power cuts. Certainly no extra points for decor or luxury. Saying that, it was generally quite clean and the staff helpful and interested without the mercenary tip-searching you get elsewhere. One highlight was the food, included in our package and which did not make us ill as it had elsewhere. It was really delicious and plentiful and we ate in the nice garden area at the front, and just really relaxed. A good 15 minute walk to either centre of the town, which is stretched along the river below but might be worth it for those wanting a bit of peace. We went rafting from here which was excellent. Seemed popular with Indian travellers.
