“Good, Simple Accomodations”

This is a simple, decent place to stay. The rooms were all comfortable, clean, and welcoming. Not *luxury* rooms, but the prices were very affordable and an incredible value relative to other places I have stayed. The staff were all very sweet and helpful. I ate well. Although I didn't always have an easy time tracking down sealed, bottled water. My tip would be to bring an extra bottle or two on your way into Maheshwar. The location is not too far from the fort, but it is not too close either. What is close -- and a wonderful treat -- is the Cheer Chayan shop. It is a handloom place, just across the road and up about 100 feet. Ganesh Bichhave sells gorgeous handlooms at reasonable prices. It was really a delight. I left with two saris, which I get compliments on all of the time now. In any case, Kanchan Recreations is a safe, comfortable, friendly place to stay in Maheshwar. More

After visiting Mandu I reached Maheshwar by bus. An auto driver took me to Kanchan Recreation Guest House. Man at the reception offered me a cup of tea without asking me about my plan. Instantly I knew this is the place where they care for their guests. During my short stay of three nights four days I was provided all the assistance by the Reception staff. He will ask me about my programme a day before so if he need to arrange something for tomorrow he has enough time to do so. Atmosphere at the Guest House was very homely. Rooms were clean. Food was good and fresh organic vegetables were used for cooking. I will recommend this place to every budget and middle claas tourist for stay in Maheshwar. Its situation is very ideal, easy to find on the road. I got full value of the money I paid there. More
