We have eaten here a few times, usually a weeday. We have always been by ourselves or atleast one other dining party at the same time. The last visit was on Sept.19th, 2011. Our server was Forrest, dressed in colonial period costume, who was very attentive- while still giving us privacy. His service was excellent! The food is great, we... More

The Innkeepers lack customer service. The dinning room was very warm felt like the air condioning was not on. Food tasted like it was frozen as well as coming out slow. Deffinately not worth the money paid for it. I tryed to look around the Inn to see the history of it, but was only able to go in the... More

We first stayed at the Wayside in October, 2004. We love history and genealogy and we were researching an ancestor who had fought at the Battle of Cedar Creek in VA. We decided at the last minute we would go to the last day of the re-enactment that Sunday, October 17. The inn had been completely booked for the weekend,... More

Just came back from dinner at the Wayside. Our meal was terrible. My wife had the crabcakes with hair. I had the tough and dry prime rib. Even the auus couldn't help this piece of meat. Green beans were soft and weatherd. Showed the waitress the hair and was not charged for that meal but I couldn't eat my meal... More

This Inn has been a favorite of ours for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners...until now. The buffet was unappetizing and lacked variety. The wait staff, while friendly, was unprofessional. The bill was enormous!! New York City pricing in the Shenandoah Valley. The management/owner, was totally lacking in true customer service skills. I must, sadly, urge folks not to visit this historic... More

Romantic, unassuming B&B -- excellent value, friendly staff. Stayed Friday - Sunday. Room was more than adequate - comfortable 4-poster,carpeted, sitting area, private bath. Inn great for a getaway -- close to DC but not too close. Close to North Mountain winery, Cedar Creek (and other) Civil War battlefields, historic Stephens City, and Winchester. Irish Isle Pub down the street... More

New owners so you should disregard old reviews 08 and back. If you're looking for historic, quaint, charming, and antiques everywhere, then this is for you. If you like friendly staff and attentiveness this is the place. We had a cozy room, ok so the bathroom was not updated but it had the necessities and so what, we had antique... More

Forget what you read. Yes, the inn is historic. That does not, however, make up for circa 1960s fixtures (including sunken and dirty tiles) in the teeny bathroom, dirty carpet and couch, no hairdryer, the most miniscule toiletries I've ever seen, a bar where the bartenders are out waiting tables in the dining room and give you no service, ice...
