Charlottesville is really crowded for parking near campus, but this allows you to park in covered parking and walk everywhere you need to go. Attended a wedding at St. Paul's Church on campus and the entire wedding party walked there. Very convenient. Telephones are quirky and just hang up on you here. Nice restaurant for breakfast and indoor pool (did... More

Typical Courtyard by Marriott. Smack dab in the middle of the UVA campus which was good and bad. Close walk to UVA Chapel but traffic nightmare getting out the next day. Staff was good - very pleasant. Liked that the front desk person showed us a short cut to the Wedding shuttle. While a decent hotel, price was way too... More

I stayed in this hotel at the end of Aug. 2011. The best thing about the hotel is the location downtown.. you have every type of restaurant within walking distance. The hotel on the inside is a basic everyday hotel. The room was nicely appointed, but there was a damp/moldy smell on the second floor like they have cleaned carpets... More

Everything about this hotel is fine until you get to the room. The outside is clean and inviting, the lobby is nice, the staff are friendly... And then there's the room. Window A/C unit is so noisy, you might as well be staying at the airport. There's a musty/mouldy smell that originates in the bathroom area but sometimes wafts its... More

We stayed one night using a reward night for Marriott Rewards. We were to pick up my husband at the Amtrak station at 7 in the morning, but they had delays and did not arrive until 2 p.m. I inquired as to the breakfast options for Marriott Elite members, but was told only Platinum members received free breakfast. So for... More

Stayed at this hotel due to location to UVA and downtown. The hotel website describes an upscale hotel however it was a typical Courtyard. Rooms were exactly same as all the older Courtyards with no upscale touches anywhere in the hotel. I state l this as the hotel's rates run over the $200 mark. I used my Marriott points for... More

We were travelling from New York to Nashville and needed a hotel for a stopover. We came across Charlottesville and found the Marriott. It was a great find, the room was very spacious, especially compared to the rooms in New York and the ability to park your car securely and for free was a bonus. The hotel is located very... More

1-Woke up in the middle of the first night's stay due to back pains from poor mattress that had springs that you could feel and hear popping in various parts of mattress. (I am like "the canary in the coal mine" regarding mattress quality due to a weak back from a health condition.) 2-Managed partial night's sleep that was further... More

We stayed here for 1 night and had a pleasant stay. The king suite was huge, with a separate bedroom and a sofa bed in both the bedroom and living room. Too bad the sofa beds had ridiculously uncomfortable mattresses. My son decided to fold it back up and just sleep on the sofa cushions. It's a small sofa, though,... More
