We recently traveled through Charlottesville and needed a place to stay. We checked a couple of other chains in the area and didn't feel completely satisfied until we came up upon this hotel! It was so cozy and quaint. We sat by the fire place in the lobby that night and had a great breakfast buffet (included in the price)... more

Not in center of town, but rooms were large and pleasant with good amenities. The breakfast, which was served in the breakfast room could have been better. Sometimes the staffr was overworked at breakfast. The conference room shouyld have offered a microphone setup, but didn't. more

I was recently in Charlottesville for the Phish concert at John Paul Jones arena and fortunately stumbled across the English Inn when I was planning my trip. What caught my eye was the reasonable rate and the fact that their website said it was within walking distance of the arena. I booked a king suite because at the time I... more

We should have paid more attention to the 1 review on the newer extended suite(s) on this website. We were in Room 10 and were looking forward to a kitchenette and living room area for a relaxing getaway weekend. When my husband and I walked into our suite we were really impressed with the walnut cabinets, granite countertops, large sink,... more

I've never so enjoyed a hotel that had such dated rooms. There is an elegant, old grandness to this inn that just oozes out of the lobby and other common areas. Just like the room that we stayed in, this charm is dated - the decor feels like a 1970s version of elegance, but I was charmed regardless. It more... more

There’s nothing like noise to spoil an otherwise perfectly fine accommodation. Especially when you are booked for several days and you know that you are going to either make an issue out of it or just pull out the earplugs. I did too little of the former and too much of the latter. We were booked into the newly constructed... more

This is a wonderful place to stay while visiting Charlottesville. It is clean, quiet, and has old-fashioned charm, yet offers internet and wi-fi access. They have a wonderful breakfast and beautiful pool. The fitness room is a little lacking, but the comfortable rooms and pleasent staff make this a wonderful place to stay. more

My wife and I have stayed here twice now and we love it. This place offers a lot of extra services and has an excellent breakfast and is reasonably priced. more

My wife and I used the hotel as a base from which to visit the many historical sites in the Charlottesville area, and were very happy with our lodging experience. The room was moderately priced, clean, some what larger than standard size, and contained a small fridge, microwave, and coffee machine. Everything was in good working order! The staff were most... more
