My wife, friend and I stayed at the Inn during the New Year weekend. We had a great time, it is very close to Sugar Bush and great restaurants such as FlatBreads, Common Man, etc. I expected a no frills stay and was pleasantly surprised. Free breakfast which was great, it was a filling breakfast and home cooked. There was... More

Needed a room from Tuesday to Friday at the tail end of foliage season. Luckilly after we decided our original reserved accomodations weren't going to be suitable we were able to stay here instead at the Golden Lion Riverside Inn. Michael and Melinda could have not been nicer or more willing to do anything in their power to make our... More

I selected the Golden Lion Riverside Inn because it was one of the few options available during of the the weekends of school vacation. This is a no-frills motel. The rates are reasonable but you get what you pay for. The rooms are small and clean, though they have a lingering musty smell. The bed (a double bed in room... More

This was the perfect budget choice for skiing at Sugarbush. The rooms are a little dated but spacious, warm and very clean. The breakfasts are excellent and the owners are very friendly. We would definitely consider coming back here. More

Returned to the Golden Lion for the first time in a couple of years and had another nice stay. It's nice to see the work the owners have done and it has a fresh new look with new paint and signs. Good, hearty breakfasts before we hit the slopes and the folks who run the place were always helpful and... More

We stayed her when up for a wedding and liked this hotel. The owners were friendly and helpful and served good breakfasts. They seemed to know a lot about the area. The rooms were clean and large and not very expensive. The only funny thing was that I couldn't figure out how the cable worked at first and had to... More

We recently stayed at the Golden Lion for a family event. I was disappointed on several levels. First, the rooms are quite dirty. Not that the carpets weren't clean or there was grime, but the walls were covered in scuff marks, the furniture had stains, and the tub was worn with overuse. The window in our bathroom did not open... More

After a long day on the mountain there is nothing like a nice hot shower. What a shame that the golden lion inn has no water pressure. You could maybe get a nice relaxing evening in the hot tub, but the owners keep the location a secret and tell you that you need ask where the hot tub is and... More

We had just returned from VT and stayed at the Golden Lion Inn for two nights. We were very happy that they were a pet friendly hotel and we happy that they had an excellent breakfast included in the rate. The owners and staff of the hotel were very friendly and helpful and you could not beat the less than... More

If it's a clean, warm, cost effective stay with fido along for the ride I stay here when skiing in the Mad River Valley region and have returned after 3 or 4 stays over the past several years since the present young couple/owners took over. Only a couple of rooms are open to pets, so plan in advance accordingly if... More
