Now don’t get me wrong, the Grist Mill is a great place to stay…for the right people. The location is just a few easy miles from South Woodstock; the House/Mill was built in 1779 and is full of unique and charming character. The hosts, Peter and Carole have the right balance of friendliness and hospitality and this shows the moment... more

On a recent college search trip my daughter and I were fortunate enough to have found the Grist Mill. The owners were wonderful, friendly, informative and very nice. We had a room upstairs with the bath next door to our room. We were the only guests and the accomodations were very clean, quiet and comfortable. They made from scratch scones... more

What can I say? I nearly passed over this beautiful B&B as it was in South Woodstock and not in the town of Woodstock itself. I am so glad I didn't. Peter the Innkeeper could not have been a better host. His breakfasts are to die for - each day something new and exciting. We were too full each day... more

We felt so at home in this cozy mill. The warmth from the wood-burning stove and the hearts of the innkeepers made for an absolutely perfect winter stay. We would LOVE to go back! more

My family stayed over New Year's Eve - we had 2 rooms in the Grist Mill and also booked Peter and Carole's house across the street - the Miller House. What an amazing time! Both houses are spotless, beautifully decorated, charming and comfortable. P. and C. were gracious hosts, the food excellent, and their hospitality superb. Rates are very reasonable.... more

My boyfriend and I just returned from a weekend at the Grist Mill House. We were looking for a nice weekend getaway at an affordable price and this bed and breakfast was the way to go. Compared to the other inns around town, this one was the cheapest. We paid $185.30 for both of us for Fri. and Sat. night.... more

On a whim, my fiance and I decided to take off to Vermont for the weekend. We were looking for a place to get away from it all. I found the Grist Mill House on-line and was astonished with the reasonable price and friendly feel I got from the web-site. When we arrived at the house, my first thought was... more

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights at the Grist Mill House. We had a wonderful stay! Our host Peter was very friendly and helped us find out way around the area. The breakfasts he cooked were some of the best we ever had! The house is beautiful and the beds are very comfy. We had a relaxing stay.... more

We were traveling on a road trip to Vermont in the peak fall season, and frantically looking for a B&B's or inn to stay. A search on the Woodstock Chamber of Commerce led us to the Grist Mill House, where, fortunately, the best room (The Kedron Room) was available for our preferred dates. To top it, they had the most... more

My boyfriend and I stayed in the Kedron Room for one night---we wished we had planned to stay for two! The house was even more amazing than we expected. It is an old grist mill with beautiful hardwood floors and lots of character. Each room bed has a handmade quilt and is nicely, but simply, appointed. Our host, Peter, was... more
