For starters there is really nothing in Putney and the B&B is 5 miles from it's center. When we arrived we were somewhat disappointed in the grounds as the lawn needed mowing and the headges trimming, it's curbside appeal left alot to be desired. Our disappointment waned as soon as we walked in the interior is old but well maintaned... more

Thanks to our hosts, I had one of the best vacations ever! The breakfasts were to die for. In fact the waffels were the best I had ever eaten. There are various places to cycle and Arnie knows them all! Go Go Go. The accomodations are clean and comfy. This B&B gets 100 stars in my opinion. more

We had a wonderful time - friendly helpful hosts who went out of their way to make sure we had enjoyable bike rides. Southern Vermont is simply beautiful, we are already planning to come back! more

Spent just one night here with the intention of doing a little road biking (which we did with the help of Arnie the innkeeper's excellent cue sheets). Very nice inn, extremely clean and tastefully furnished (historic 1810 building, but warm and comfortable, doesn't feel like a museum). Innkeepers Diane and Arnie are available, very helpful, friendly, and easy-going, but respectful... more

We just returned home from a wonderful stay at Ranney-Crawford house with Arnie and Diane. We were visiting Landmark College for an open house with our sons. The Inn is only 4 and 1/2 miles from the campus. Their home is on a beautiful tree lined road in the Vermont country side. Arnie and Diane were wonderful hosts. They gave... more

We just got back from a most wonderful stay at this lovely Vermont B&B. Located on a quiet, country road, the house was charming yet with modern amenities - tons of hot water, big screen TV in the cozy den, comfy beds and scrumptious, generous breakfasts served up by the warm, friendly proprietors. By the second day, we felt like... more

My wife and I just spent a beautiful fall weekend in Vermont. This is a wonderful B&B to enjoy the area. It has 4 rooms-2 large rooms each with a very small, private bath in the room and 2 smaller rooms with larger, private baths just outside the room. The living room has a large flat-screen HD TV and is... more

We had an incredible weekend at Ranney-Crawford for the July 4th weekend. I found it online after looking up cycling routes in Vermont and reading these reviews. Arnie and Diane went way above and beyond welcoming us to Putney and their B&B. We had great breakfasts and incredible rides . I needed to do some longer rides and runs to... more

I can vouch for nearly everything mentioned in these reviews--fantastic breakfasts, very precise cue sheets and great recommendations on bike rides, extremely welcoming and friendly and relaxed hosts. The house, which was built in 1810, is beautifully maintained and furnished (with quite a bit of furniture made by Arnie himself). more

The Ranney-Crawford Bed and Breakfast has it all; colonial charm with modern conveniences and a host and hostess in Arnie and Diane Glim, who are available at all times to see to their guests every need, wether it be the daily lavish breakfast, planing a day of cycling or a sightseeing tour, picking up ones rented bicyles from the West... more
