This place is the best, and my boyfriend and I will definitely be back! It's historic and charming, but not in that overpowering way where you spend your vacation worrying you'll break something. There's no place better for a chill week(end) of skiing in Vermont, sans any froofy nonsense. The owner is is super helpful and accommodating, not to mention... More

We booked this place paying top dollar for Xmas time having top expectations. But it turned out to be a miserable stay. The place was under construction when we first walked in. Apparently they were recovering from Hurricane Irene which happened about 4 months ago which is ridiculous. The owner of the place did not touch a thing the opening... More

Don't let the exterior deceive you. My kids' faces fell when they first saw it, as it is right on the street and looks quite run down. But we all LOVED the rooms - charming, spacious, and nice bathrooms (we had the 4 bedroom suite, which was a lot of fun for them). The pool was fine -- clean, but... More

We loved this place and will be going back this winter to ski at Killington. The place is rustic and unique. Like no other I stayed in before. We appreciated all the rich history. The original post office window where Calvin Coolidge picked up his mail from is in the bar. There are great old pictures from the 1800s and... More

We were disappointed in the Salt Ash Inn. We found the property poorly maintained on the outside. Our room was not clean and decorated with garage sale type furniture. A positive comment was the person in charge was pleasant and helpful. More

We loved the Salt Ash Inn. Al was the best. It is a very relaxing environment. Played volleyball outside, some of our family swam in the pool. Took lots of photos in the garden area out back. Our rooms were great. We stayed in the modern part and our rooms were extremely clean and our bathrooms were oversized and great.... More

When I saw a room listed with a fireplace for less than $150 and no minimun stay... I didn't even look at the list of other rooms at the inn! We stayed in the older part of the in, very rustic - it had full timber beams in the ceiling! It was extremely clean and cozy. Bed was comfy too.... More

We stayed in the Carriage House. The room was lovely, big and the gas fireplace was cozy. As we pulled into the parking lot, the new owner greeted us and told us the kitchen was out and that he could not serve food. Also, he did not open the bar for us. We were dissappointed to have to leave the... More

A little late in adding my comments, but we stayed here in fall 2007 and it was awesome. The hosts are wonderful, the lounge/fireplace area is second to none, and the rooms cozy. Naz knows how to put on a great breakfast, and you can enjoy the hot tub year round (and pool in the summer). Enjoy! More
