My now-husband's mother has already written a review on this page, but we felt we had to add our own perspective. We stayed at Sumner for several days, including before and after our wedding. While we booked the Inn based on how beautiful the grounds and building were, we were pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed our room (the... More

My son was married this August at the Mansion, his bride grew up "down the road" from it. Family and friends came from all over, Mom & myself from Florida. The giant maple tree makes the perfect backdrop for the ceremony. We all carried our chairs back to the garden tables or inside for dinner and then dancing in the... More

What a wonderful experience we had staying at the Sumner Inn with owner Jill. The home is an historic site and Jill has it furnished with all kinds of interesting antiques and art. The first floor bedroom and bath were luxurious AND have easy access to the front door for taking the dogs out. Comfortable beds, great fireplaces, good breakfast... More

Used to work for the Ron and mary louis and they were great people and gave me a free weddiing there with a band and a great food layout. I worked in the kitchen and mainly did the dishes and helped with desserts and salads and appetisers. They know how to puton a wedding and run a Inn. Paul Cannistraci More

There is a new owner at Sumner Mansion and it makes all the difference in the world! Jill is taking this historic old house and is bringing it back to life with panache. An antique dealer, she has brought her great taste and flair to every room in the house. Who could resist sleeping in a huge canopied bed in... More

My husband and I just got back from staying at Sumner, and we had the most amazing time with Jill, the new owner. We attended a rehearsal dinner for 75 people, and everything was beautiful and flawless. Staying there was the most comfortable and welcoming experience we could ask for. The rooms are spacious and decorated with amazing antique decor... More

We recently enjoyed a wonderful summer weekend at the Sumner Mansion in Hartland, VT. The new owner is Jill Crowley and she exudes enthusiasm and is extremely knowledgeable about the area. A gracious hostess and, I suspect, a history buff at heart, she loves sharing her knowledge with her guests. Also a dealer of antiques, she offers for sale many... More

My wife and I stayed three nights at the Sumner Mansion while visiting friends and testing the area golf courses. The building itself is historic, dating to the early 1800s (Lafayette slept there... really!) and is conveniently located, close to the Interstate. But once on the ground you would think you were on a large and private estate. The new... More

Our experience, with the Sumner Mansion Inn and innkeepers extraordinaire, Mary Louise and Ron, go back a few years and I can honestly say I could not be more delighted that the Inn and this lovely couple, play such a prominent part in our lives together. My mother-in-law to be gave us a Christmas gift of a weekend in the... More

We just finished a three night stay at this lovely bed and breakfast. The owners, Ron and Mary-Louise were very outgoing, accommodating and down to earth lovely people. The room was everything we could have expected. Every breakfast was outstanding, especially when served by the fire on a chilly Vermont morning. More
