Having stayed at the Silas Grffith Inn two years ago we couldn't wait to get back. The beautiful old mansion is very inviting. The food is excellent, and after sleeping in on our second day we thought we would be too late for breakfast, but Kathy welcomed us into Emma's for another wonderful meal. George's room was perfect for a... more

Im really surprised by the last 3 reviews. did they really stay at Silas Griffith. While the host was a very nice woman and knew her Vermont history this place was a mess. I did have a very nice and clean room but the common area and the restaurant were a train wreck. I've never seen so much clutter! The... more

Wow! We were looking to go someplace so we could be close to ski areas and found the perfect place. Our room was warm a cozy, with a great gas fireplace. Breakfast was right downstairs in a quaint little family-run restaurant. We got to join the family in the evening and watch TV on their HD set, and slept in... more

The Inn keepers are a personal couple as is their mother. Unfortunately the website photos and brochure are NOT what we got. The inn is in disrepair, dusty and cluttered in every room including the common rooms, which are stacked with books, magazines, dungeons and dragons, star wars , bric a brac, old plants, wilted plants etc. Emma's restaurant was no... more

Fantastic setting, great views, marble sidewalk, impressive property, but hold your horses! The website description does not match the true atmosphere that greets the weary traveler. The fact that this inn is family run has it's charm, but does not make up for the sorry state of the pool and the general "in disrepair "(or is it "repair"?) appearance of... more

I just got back yesterday from my trip to Vermont. My husband and I decided to get away for a weekend and we were so happy we came across the Silas Griffith Inn. My first impression when we arrived was that the mansion was stunning. I knew immediately that this house came with a history and I couldn't wait to... more

This B&B is a real gem. I was traveling alone, but I'm eager to return for a longer stay with my husband! The innkeepers are warm and welcoming; I was delayed and arrived late at night...they had stayed up waiting after making several attempts to contact me out of concern for my safety! The house has a storybook feel to... more

Wow! Were we pleasantly surprised! Located within an easy drive of several ski resorts, we found a real gem. The decor was charming and romantic. The mountain views were lovely. The food at the on site restaurant, Emma's, was delicious. You'll feel right at home in the common areas. The attention from our hosts was over the top special. And... more

We stayed at the Silas Griffith Inn in October - and were extremely disappointed. It was our 25th anniversary - and a long awaited trip to New England. Thankfully the trip was redeemed by wonderful stays in New Hampshire and Maine. But the Silas Griffith Inn was very bad. The staff of 7 "incudes a 2 year old" in the... more

My husband and I celebrated our 1st anniversary at this B&B and were very disappointed. For 2 out of the 3 days we stayed, the breakfast offered was buffet style instead of a nice sit-down breakfast (the website mentioned wonderful meals from the menu which we were not offered on these days). We also tried dinner at the inn but... more
