The first thing to know is that your options for lodging in this area are not limited to the kitschy, outrageously priced, Disneyland-esque fakery of "Bryce City." There's plenty of lodging in Tropic, which is only about 7 miles down the road. Once you get to Tropic, however, choose anything other than Pioneer Village. Our experience: Checkin is at 2:00pm,... We visited this rustic motel in late April 2012 and they were just getting started on their active season. Our "cabin" did not have hot water, only warm, but we went to the office and told them and they came right over and turned the temperature up. The phone in our room did not work, the TV had so much... More

We came to Bryce to hike and see nature, not sit in a hotel room half the day watching TV and checking our email. The hotel has one of Mr. Bryce's ACTUAL 130 year old cabins on site, so why in the world would I be watching TV. The staff offered us good practical advice about some of the area's... More

We got this room because it was the only one available in Tropic at the last minute. The 2 bed motel room was small but clean in the last building and quiet. The staff was very helpful letting me use their computer and facilitating getting a room in Cedar City after we left there. My first impression of the room... More

Compared to some other places we stayed in for the same price this did not have very good facilities. But it was literally the last room in Bryce or Tropic when I was making a last minute booking. We had a motel room and it was very small, though it was quiet as there is a single floor so nobody... More

overpriced. room and bathroom dirty. TV did not have reception. Told us when reservations were made had internet and they do if you want to hike down from the cabin to the office. Staff was very very inconsiderate and rude. Have taken site off of company's approved lodging sight. More

We stayed 2 nights while visiting / hiking Bryce Canyon National Park. The town of tropic is only about 17 minutes travel time from the entrance to the park. Very convenient. There are places that are closer to the park but much more expensive. Frankly, $70 per night was a lot for this place IF it were not so close... More

Our daughter and two grandsons were traveling with us and it's not always easy to find accommodations for five people. Bryce Pioneer Village had a large cabin with three queen beds, small but adequate bathroom (shower only), extra sink, table, microwave, small refrigerator and efficient air conditioning. There's an interesting old cabin/museum on the grounds and small gift shop. In... More

This hotel is nowhere near as bad as some reports make out. Our room was quite small, especially by American standards, furniture was rustic and minimal but it all matched and the room had a pioneer feel to it. Air conditioning was quiet and effective, TV was fine, all facilities in the bathroom worked, On the negative side, there's no... More
