Bedding is a sticking point for me when it comes to travel: most attractive, most spacious, most amenities, cleanest, most convenient--these mean nothing if I can't get a good night's rest. Thunderbird Lodge, just outside East Zion, delivers on all the essentials for a good stay. Our room was spacious with an attractive rustic decor featuring log furniture including two... More

BEST WESTERN East Zion Thunderbird Lodge is really a nice Best Western hotel. The location is very convenient just outside of Zion’s National Park. Staff is friendly. Parking is convenient just outside your room. Rooms are large and clean. Best of all: it is so quite at night and beds are comfortable. More

The Good: Close proximity to the east entrance of Zion. The price was reasonable. Helpful, courteous staff. I booked two separate nights and was able to change to a different room on both occasions. The toiletry amenities are satisfactory. Refrigerators in all rooms. Decaf/herbal tea included in coffee service. Also, they put a brown hand towel by the coffee pot... More

Choose this hotel as it is close to Zion 15 min, Red Canyon an hour and Bryce 75 min, also central to Grand Canyon and Cedar breaks but both had not opened yet. Also 15 min to ATV ride at Zion Ponderosa Ranch and that ride was great and the views unmatched. Did the 2 hour ride and loved it... More

This hotel was home to a very pleasant and relaxing stay. We stayed on this side of the park becacuse we were coming from Page, AZ and then moving on to Bryce. There is not much on this side of the park, but that was nice. It felt really relaxing and easy going. There is a couple gas stations, the... More

I enjoy a retreat from the busy life and towns when I go to visit a National Park. I went hiking the other day and after a full day in Zion, I just wanted a good dinner and to relax with family and prepare for the next day. The Thunderbird pool and golf course. however. do offer a nice place... More

As we travel north from Arizona in the early spring, this has become our go to place. We stay in the single story section next to the golf course as it allows us to park our truck and cargo trailer right next to the door. Makes for easy off load of items from the truck, and provides a sense of... More

Thank you! There is no better compliment than having a repeat visitor! Many repeat visitors like those units you described - which we call the Golf Course units, but for a special treat, try the units closest to highway 9. Those are the ones that are fully furnished with log furniture. The units you describe we are working on remolding... More

Nice location, easy and scenic drive into Zion from the east, with very little traffic. Room was surprisingly quiet, as well as clean & comfortable. Diner is attached to lobby. Good for a burger or bowl of chili, closes at 10pm. Gas station located next to lobby. Hotel only 90 min from BryceCanyon. More

You have hit on the beauty of the East side of Zion National Park - little traffic! The south side of the park can get quite congested with all the commercialism, but the east side is still remote and beautiful - like many want when they come to visit the National Parks. The restaurant hours vary depending on the time... More

This place is very good. Rooms are spacious, furniture is unique, view from the balcony is great. We had a free breakfast every morning in a restaurant, at the check out we were given a paper with 4 menu choices. The store had a good 50 percent off sale for silver Indian made jewerly. It was 30 min drive to... More

This is the sort of thing I like to read before my morning hot beverage! I am so glad you appreciate our very cool Southwestern Style rooms and furniture. We do try and blend in with our environment. Not all our rooms have the log cabin furniture, but we are trying hard to make it so. This is not always... More

Now that is a short, to the point type of review. I am glad you appreciated our clean, neat rooms and location. Yes, we are an average BEST WESTERN hotel. That I think is a good thing. BEST WESTERN is a sign of quality. Thank you so much for your review. More

Pleasant location, even has a golf course. Nice beds, nice bathroom. I stayed in the old wing right next to the golf course. I would recommend the newer two-story wing. However, it is noisier than the single story away from the road wing I stayed it. They are leaky and in need of weather-stripping and ceiling fans. If the window... More

I am so glad you enjoyed our location, beds, and bathrooms as well as the breakfast. What you call the old wing, was certainly the first units built, but we are in the process of completely renovating them. You apparently stayed in one of the few on that wing that are not completely re-dry walled and the whole works, just... More
