We stayed at the Padre Motel during September of 2011. Some of the other motels were already sold out and we started checking some 3 months prior! So, if going during the cooler fall months be sure to book early. By default we stayed at the Padre Motel. It was very dated, with small rooms, located on East Main street,... More

Clean, quiet small motel. Nothing fancy, but, nice and large rooms with all the amenities you need - and a very comfortable bed! The owners are very friendly people. Ideal for the Grand Staircase Escalante on Highway 12 scenic byway. I rate it "very good" not in comparison to expensive places in cities, but in comparison to other places in... More

This may have been a cute off the beaten track place in 1970..they do have color TV, flush toilets, and at door parking. In the peak season (Sept) the "mini-suites"..and I mean "MINI" run $110/after tax $125. This is an owner occupied property (the Lymans). The Mrs. Lyman skirts "surly"..think of the 3rd grade nun who despised your very existence. Despite... More

This is my second time staying at the Padre. There are lots of choices in the town but I like the Padre. It is a small motel with basic amenities. We've always been treated well by the owners there which is one reason we've returned. We've always stayed in the very small but comfortable mini suite. The 2 bedrooms are... More

When I called asking for info about a room, a male voice told me it was $55.00 for 2 rooms available. The call was discontinued but I called back, to be told by a woman's voice it was $65.00. So I said, "Well how many rooms do you have?" "Well, how many rooms do you need?" in a huffy tone... More

The Padre Motel has 3 room types; single queens, single kings, and mini-suites with 2 queen beds in adjoining rooms. Each room type has a different price. If you ask about the different rooms and their prices you’ll get 3 different straight answers; first, second & third. A reservation for a king bed in September is $75+tax; approximately $84 total.... I enjoyed my stay at the Padre Motel, and it served as an excellent basecamp for exploring the plateaus and valleys of Escalante. The proprieters were extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgable about the area. The room was very clean and quiet. The bed was extremely comfortable. There were also other nice conveniences, like a refridgerator in the room and a... More

This was a very clean motel right in the middle of town. The management was wonderful and showed us that small town hospitality. It is walking distance to a grocery store and places to eat. There are several place to hike and fish nearby. We would definitely come again!!

I cannot say anything about this hotel because they canceled my reservation a couple hours before check in time, when I was already traveling to my destination. I have a confirm reservation done two days in advance, but they didn't want to respect it. The only option that they gave me was pay 30% more for a bigger room.

The Padre Motel honors all confirmed reservations. Any reservation discrepancies are resolved without additional monetary impact to our potential guests. At no time have we cancelled reservations in an attempt to up-sale for our financial gain. More

We loved our stay at the Padre. When all other places were booked / closed, the proprietor was kind enough to answer her door bell and give us a room. We got a very nice room with DirectTV, a renovated bathroom, enough towels and air conditionning. What more can you ask for? The Padre Motel is one of those places... More

I found this motel to be not the best value for money on my recent trip to Utah. The rooms are quite small, and once you open your suitcase out, there is no more space in the room. The bathroom was very clean, as was the bedroom. The welcome was very warm, but I'm inclined to think that at USD... More
