I took my family to Utah in June of 2011. We flew into Salt Lake City, went to Fish Lake, Capitol Reef, Bryce, Zion, Canyonlands and Arches. The highlight of the trip, for me, was Kodachrome. Although not a nat'l park, this state park is absolutely gorgeous, and a lot more intimate/smaller scale than the big parks. The best three... More

If you are in the area visiting Capitol Reef or Bruce then this should be on your list as well. The scenery is beautiful and the facilities are good. As well as the colourful cliffs all round this area, Kodachrome Park has these multi coloured rock pillars that apparently do not occur anywhere else on earth. There are nearly 70... More

We had initially booked the nearby KOA but ended up staying at the Kodachrome State Park campground after visiting the park. This campground is fantastic, you barely feel that you are in a campground. From our RV site, we could only see tree and the surrounding fantastic scenery!

This would be a nice place for a weekend visit if you are in the area for camping and hiking or if you want to get away from people. But, if you are visiting the national parks (Zion, Bryce, Captiol Reef, Arches, etc.) spend more time in the national parks and pass on Kodachrome Basin. The geological formations in KB... More

I had not made it to Kodachrome Basin State Park on my previous visits to Utah. We took the rough gravel road to Chimney Rock and, in retrospect, probably should have spent this time in the main valley instead. Honestly, by the time we got here after visiting Arches, Canyonlands and Capitol Reef NP’s plus Dead Horse Point and Goblin... More

We stayed at the park on the way to Bryce Canyon, and wished that we had more time to explore before we headed out! The cabin was great, everything we needed (no TV, very remote location), and we did get an internet signal via satellite as advised. A lovely peaceful location and a perfect spot for sunrise photography. I would... More

My husband and I stayed here for two nights and loved our stay. The campsite was spotless, it had even been raked before our arrival. The restrooms/showers were clean, there were outlets for charging devices, and good bundles of firewood on hand. We loved our stay here. The park is beautiful, the campground was quiet, and the staff were friendly.... More

Had an extended stay here recently and enjoyed every night! We were tent camping and there's plenty of room on FLAT pitches with plenty of shade, a picnic table and fire pit/grill area. Everyone who stays here seems to respect the quiet times and stops for a chat. Rangers on check-in are super helpful and friendly. Toilets are clean and... More
